Job Responsibilities
Perform pre-trip inspection on equipment in alignment with MPC policy and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Check tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer for general operating requirements and make sure that all required equipment is available and in good operating condition. Note inspection and deficiencies on the pre-trip inspection form.
Drive a tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer to transport product in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Obey all applicable federal, state and local laws. Follow MPC and site specific standard operating procedures for the loading and offloading process.
Perform post-trip inspection on equipment in alignment with MPC policy and DOT regulations. Complete all regulatory and customary paperwork. Ensure equipment is ready for the next shift.
Communicate all incidents, including safety and environmental concerns, according to company procedures.
Report all equipment issues in a timely manner.
Follow, maintain, and adhere to all safety rules and operating procedures, including all DOT regulations.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to work on elevated spaces: 30+ feet on graded elevation.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50-65 lbs.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to grip a steering wheel for extended periods of time.

MHC Healthcare drivers provide safe, courteous, customer service-oriented transportation services to the patients and clients of the organization. MHC drivers work in tandem with the scheduling staff of the clinics to coordinate patient appointments and transport services which enable providers to see their patients without delay. Drivers utilize maps and driving directions to coordinate patient/client trips for the most efficient route for their riders. Drivers are required to effectively interact with all levels of staff from various departments. As a member of MHC Transportation, the individual must record all data relevant to pre-trip inspections, daily transports and support the goal of maintaining accurate records for the effective reporting of Transportation statistics concerning customer trips, vehicle maintenance and fuel usage. During periods of low transportation volume, drivers may be cross-trained in functions which support the administrative aspects of practice productivity. MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. High School Diploma or G.E.D., plus at least two years' work experience in a customer service environment; required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with the scheduling staff to create efficient schedules for patients and clients of MHC Healthcare.
Coordinates with co-workers and communicates patient concerns to accomplish the appointments scheduled each day, minimizing any negative impact to the providers' visit schedules.
Consults with staff to identify customer reqirements, requests and/or accommodations related to transportation services.
Immediately reports any non-routine incidents or safety issues to supervisor and/or Practice Manager. Completes accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records as requested.
Coordinates with co-drivers when vehicle maintenance requires a vehicle to be out of service so the driver's schedule can be changed to ensure coverage of scheduled transports for the day.
Coordinates with co-drivers to arrange for scheduled days off and adjustments to the daily schedule for assigned drivers.
Participates in in-services/education regarding Quality Improvement.
Assists with reports for billing, verifies billing accuracy, prepares requisitions and check requests, and performs general support functions in regard to workforce transportation and worforce development.
Consistently prioritizes the safety, comfort and experience of the patient/client to deliver consistent service and quality to the patients and clients of MHC Healthcare.
Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.

**Physical Requirements**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. **Lifting Requirements**

**Working Environment**
The majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods of time including up to the entire duration of shift. Employees are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
**Travel**
Travel of up to 5% may be required.
