Responsible for transporting children who are ambulatory or non-ambulatory by school bus provided by the Worcester Public Schools to and from special education classes and events 2. Responsible for applying safety rules in the transportation and care of handicapped students. 3. Responsible for performing safety checks on vehicles in the beginning and end of each day. 4. Responsible for providing all necessary assistance to the school bus attendant (lift and carry) to these children according to their conditions, prosthetic devices and their specific needs. 5. Responsible, within the limits of in-service training, for adjusting the devices according to the particular positions of the children when being carried, seated or standing. 6. The Part-Time Bus Driver is responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle at all times, safe delivery of all students to their authorized stops and notifying their supervisor of any problems with their vehicle. The position is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.
