Amador County Unified School District has two comprehensive high schools, one alternative high school, two junior high schools and six elementary schools. DEFINITION Under general supervision, to operate a school bus over designated rural, mountainous routes in transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school; to drive students to and from special events without designated routes; and to perform related work as required. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS Positions in this class perform school bus driving duties over mountainous terrain and under extremes of weather. Primary Function Plans, coordinates, and conducts training programs for new bus drivers. Develops and conducts in-service training programs and evaluates the driving performance of bus drivers. Directly Responsible To Transportation Services Coordinator Work Length: 5 hrs/day Supervision Supervises and evaluates assigned classified staff. Major Responsibilities Develops a driver training program for school bus drivers. Obtains necessary training materials and supplies, makes arrangements for classroom facilities, sets up the training schedule and contacts participants.
