Under the direction of the Transportation Coordinator, the Bus Monitor is responsible for maintaining a warm, healthy environment to promote the total growth and well-being of the children in the program. Following is a list of responsibilities: Serve as the primary person responsible for child safety on an assigned vehicle. Complete and confirm daily attendance counts and rosters. Assist children with street crossing, getting on and off the bus and door-to-door transfers. Ensure the safety of children on the vehicle by following all Y rules and best practices for managing youth. Provide pro-active supervision of children on the bus at all times. Serve as a mandated reporter for our transportation operations. Attend safety, in-services and other trainings and staff meetings. Follow and administer the Y Child Safety Code of Conduct.
