Qualifications
PhD in analytical chemistry (5+ years industry experience) or Master's (8+ years). Experience in pharmaceutical or applied markets required.
Expertise in chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and related analytical instrumentation.
Proficient with industry-leading chromatography data systems (e.g., OpenLab, MassHunter, Chromeleon, Empower) across the full analytical workflow.
Knowledge of scientific data management systems (compliance, archiving, security); GxP experience a plus.
Self-starter with strong execution and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communicator; effective in cross-functional teams, stakeholder engagement, and customer presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with lab informatics software (LIMS, ELN).

Job Summary
The Scientist III - UV/HPLC (Development Labs) is accountable for driving results in a fast-paced environment by performing analytical routine and non-routine testing in support of pharmaceutical product development or pharmaceutical manufacturing. The Scientist III may also be required to work on method development/method validation projects. For this position, HPLC, dissolution and/or GC based methodologies are commonly employed in the described testing. Other key methodologies applied include titrations UV, AA, IR. Test methods employed may be compendial (i.e. USP, EP) or proprietary (client supplied or developed by The Company).

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Responsibilities
Develops analytical methodology for analysis via HPLC, TOC, UV, and/or particle size.
Performs GMP review of solutions and wet chemical analyses and chromatography.
Performs one or more of the following techniques: residual solvents, assays (potencies, related substances), dissolution, elemental impurities, moisture content, identification, and various other wet chemistry-based measurements.
Evaluates and interprets generated data.
Analyzes information for technical correctness and accuracy.
Understands the theoretical basis of methods/experiments.
Solves problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Writes test procedures, protocols, and reports.
Maintains working knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Assists in removal of hazardous waste, routine equipment cleaning, and restocking of consumable products and reagents.
Effectively uses various laboratory software packages (Empower3, ProCal, Master Control, ELN, etc.).
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards.
Safely handles potent compounds.
This position will be required to supervise, handle, or process hazardous waste under Resource and Conservation guidelines promulgated under 40 CFR 262.177(a)(7), Personnel Training. This includes completion of initial and annual RCRA training and documented as required in Alcami records. This training also includes familiarity with emergency response procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems.
Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.

The likely salary range for this position is $72,877 - $98,599. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

This combination of education and experience must have provided knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of medical technology equivalent to that provided by the full 4-year course of study described in A or B above. All science and mathematics courses must have been acceptable for credit toward meeting the requirements for a science major at an accredited college or university. Acceptable experience is responsible professional or technician experience in a hospital laboratory, health agency, industrial medical laboratory, or pharmaceutical house; or teaching, test development, or medical research program experience that provided an understanding of the methods and techniques applied in performing professional clinical laboratory work. Certification/licensure as a medical technologist (generalist) obtained through written examination by a nationally recognized credentialing agency or State licensing body is a good indication that the quality of experience is acceptable.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing testing, maintaining instruments, and monitoring quality control; all of which is performed in a clinical laboratory.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Job Summary
The Scientist III-Ion Chromatography is accountable for driving results in a fast-paced environment by performing analytical routine and non-routine testing in support of pharmaceutical product development or pharmaceutical manufacturing. The Scientist III may also be required to work on method development/method validation projects. For this position, HPLC, dissolution and/or GC based methodologies are commonly employed in the described testing. Other key methodologies applied include titrations UV, AA, IR. Test methods employed may be compendial (i.e. USP, EP) or proprietary (client supplied or developed by The Company).

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Responsibilities
Develops analytical methodology for analysis via HPLC, TOC, UV, and/or particle size.
Performs GMP review of solutions and wet chemical analyses and chromatography.
Performs one or more of the following techniques: residual solvents, assays (potencies, related substances), dissolution, elemental impurities, moisture content, identification, and various other wet chemistry-based measurements.
Evaluates and interprets generated data.
Analyzes information for technical correctness and accuracy.
Understands the theoretical basis of methods/experiments.
Solves problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Writes test procedures, protocols, and reports.
Maintains working knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Assists in removal of hazardous waste, routine equipment cleaning, and restocking of consumable products and reagents.
Effectively uses various laboratory software packages (Empower3, ProCal, Master Control, ELN, etc.).
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards.
Safely handles potent compounds.
This position will be required to supervise, handle, or process hazardous waste under Resource and Conservation guidelines promulgated under 40 CFR 262.177(a)(7), Personnel Training. This includes completion of initial and annual RCRA training and documented as required in Alcami records. This training also includes familiarity with emergency response procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems.
Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.

Qualifications
Associate's degree and 16+ years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience.
OR
Master's degree with 2+ years of related experience required or PhD with 0+ year of experience.
Experience in Pharmaceutical, CDMO, or cGMP preferred.
