Under the supervision of the Director of Security and Emergency Management, the Campus Security Officer is responsible for the security and safety of the College community, remaining alert to respond to emergency situations and providing first-line response and emergency management. This position is responsible for enforcing the College's policies and procedures, and providing other security and safety related services. This position provides information, orientation, and escort services to the College community and its visitors. Incumbents in this position generally work alone on routine work assignments, checking in with the supervisor on non-routine assignments or when in doubt as to the correct procedure to follow. MPs support battlefield operations through circulation control, providing area security, conducting prisoner of war operations, supervising civilian internee operations, and carrying out law and order operations. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training for Military Police consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) and on-the-job instruction, including practice in police methods.
