THE POSITION

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS and PAYROLL TITLES: Staff Psychologist ($3,828.65 - $4,964.31 biweekly) - is the entry level classification in this job series. Incumbents have a doctoral degree, are approved by the State of California for licensure as a psychologist, but do not yet have a psychology license. They must perform their duties under the direction of a licensed Senior Psychologist and require supervision under the current rules and regulations of the California psychologist licensing body and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The Staff Psychologist must be eligible for promotion to Senior Psychologist prior to their waiver expiring and as such must be able to obtain privileges through the Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) Department of Psychology, Medical Staff Office.
