Key job responsibilities

Summary of Role
We're seeking an experienced multimedia professional to join our Communications team in a new leadership role that balances hands-on content creation with high-level strategy, brand stewardship, and people and process management. This role will help continually drive foundry10's visual storytelling forward by overseeing and directly contributing to content production across multiple formats, including videos (short- and long-form), photography, presentations, graphics, reports, and print collateral.
The Visual Content Lead will be responsible for ensuring outputs are not only brand-aligned and high-quality but also demonstrably support organizational strategic priorities and deliver impact. As part of that responsibility, they will be instrumental in shaping and executing visual content strategies at the team and organization level.
This position will collaborate with and provide coaching to staff members across the Communications team and foundry10 as a whole, including two direct reports: a Multimedia Specialist and GraphicDesigner. In addition to leading and mentoring, they will personally contribute to content creation for priority projects, including capturing original video footage and photography, directing shoots, editing and publishing visual media for digital and print channels, developing presentation slides, preparing scripts/storyboards, and occasionally executing graphicdesign and layout tasks. They will also work closely with our Multimedia Project Manager and Communications Coordinator to manage project timelines, budgets, and equipment, and coordinate on additional media capture support beyond their direct reports.
The ideal candidate will thrive with a “player-coach” leadership style, managing their own workload while supporting the growth and productivity of collaborators. They will have a proven ability to execute storytelling strategies and turn complex ideas into clear, persuasive visual content to meet audience engagement goals, including exceptional experience with all phases of the video production process. They will also possess strong presentation skills, graphicdesign expertise, interpersonal abilities, and creative confidence. Comfort navigating and guiding others through ambiguity will also be key, especially since this is a new role.
This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $87,900 to $146,500, reporting to the Director of Communications and Storytelling.

Responsibilities
Manage and mentor our Multimedia Specialist and GraphicDesigner, ensuring strong performance, professional growth, and consistently excellent outputs.
Oversee story development across the team's video/visual projects, including creating and editing scripts, interview questions, storyboards, and shot lists as needed.
Consistently meet organizational needs for video/photography capture through personal contributions and effective delegation and management of staff and contractors.
Compose, render, and edit footage, photography, and graphics to produce polished visual media outputs, while reviewing and guiding contributions from direct reports.
Support regular reviews/audits of internal and partner-produced presentations, conference materials, and other visual content, ensuring adherence to brand standards.
Work closely with the Director of Communications and Storytelling to develop and implement strategies for the organization's video platforms (including YouTube), presentations, print collateral, and other visual content and distribution channels.
Hold accountability for the team's tracking and performance on key metrics across videos and other visual content, applying data to refine strategies.
Occasionally step in to directly handle graphicdesign, layout, and illustration work as necessary, based on the capacity and priorities of direct reports.
Supervise the GraphicDesigner's annual review and update process for the organization's Visual Style Guide.
Maintain oversight of multimedia asset storage by team members, ensuring compliance with organizational naming conventions, file standards, and risk policies.
Stay updated with industry trends and innovations in multimedia visual storytelling, including AI applications and considerations for accessible and inclusive content.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in communications, multimedia, film/video production, graphicdesign, visual arts, or a related field.
5-8+ years producing, editing, and directing video content and capturing original photography, including scripting, storyboarding, lighting, and managing shoots.
3-5+ years developing and implementing data-driven content strategies that measurably advance organizational priorities.
3-5+ years managing and mentoring creative professionals.
3-5+ years designing presentation decks, graphics, reports, and other visual assets using professional tools.
3-5+ years managing multimedia workflows, budgets, and digital asset organization.

Job Description
As a Principal Product Designer, you will lead design strategies across our product initiatives, applying design thinking to every stage of the product lifecycle. Your work will extend beyond creating beautiful interfaces to ensuring that teams solve the right problems, that solutions are rooted in a deep understanding of customer needs, and that every release delivers a high level of usability and polish. You will guide design from early discovery through refinement and launch, making certain each experience supports the overall product vision and advances our long-term strategy.
This role requires an experienced design leader who excels at turning customer insights into impactful user experiences, who can champion the "why" behind the work, and who can inspire teams to pursue quality and innovation over producing features for their own sake.
Role and Responsibilities
Define and lead design strategies for high‑impact product initiatives in alignment with the product vision and business goals
Drive discovery of customer needs through research, usability testing, and direct engagement, ensuring insights guide product direction
Maintain and evolve OpenEye's design strategy for consistency, scalability, and usability, and alignment with business objectives
Oversee complex design projects from concept through launch, ensuring engineering‑ready deliverables meet quality standards before development or release
Mentor and develop junior Product Designers and coach the broader product team in design thinking and best practices
Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and QA to ensure alignment of customer needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility
Ensure feedback from stakeholders and users is integrated into design iterations and post‑launch improvements
Review UX changes for adherence to design standards and usability principles
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to inspire innovation

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field
7+ years of professional experience in product design, including senior or higher leadership roles
Proven track record of leading end‑to‑end product design for complex software applications from concept through delivery
Strong portfolio showing designs that address validated customer problems and deliver measurable impact
Demonstrated experience directly leading customer discovery efforts, including research planning, usability testing, and firsthand engagement with end users
Deep understanding of user‑centered methodologies, usability principles, and accessibility standards
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind design decisions
Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating, maintaining, and scaling a design system for enterprise software or SaaS products
Experience working in the IP video recording, monitoring, business intelligence, security, home automation, or IoT space
Proven success influencing product direction and roadmap through design leadership and customer insights
Strong ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in design decisions
Familiarity with modern software engineering tools and frameworks
Familiarity with AI-driven experience
