    Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Medical Reports to: Nurse Practitioner or RDMS Manager FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Status: Part-Time We're looking to add multiple RDMS team members to help cover the following available shifts: Monday 9:00-4:00pm Tuesday 2:00-7:30pm Wednesday 10:00-4:00pm Thursday 4:00-7:30pm Friday 1:00-4:00pm Saturday 8:30-1:30pm Supervision The RDMS will be under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner or RDMS Manager. There will be a yearly written and oral evaluation. The primary role of the RDMS is to support patients throughout their ultrasound appointments in a compassionate, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner. The RDMS will provide clear and accurate education regarding fetal development, gestational age, and all pregnancy options-including abortion, adoption, and parenting- ensuring that patients are fully informed without any form of coercion or bias. In addition to sonography services, the RDMS will also assist with basic clinical responsibilities such as performing urine pregnancy tests and STI testing, contributing to comprehensive, patient-centered care. Qualifications: Ability to provide support and guidance to clients and patients from various backgrounds. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and administrative skills, as well as being dependable and punctual. Strong commitment to the sanctity of human life and biblical sexual ethics. Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accountable to a local Bible believing church. Agreement with Choices' Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and policies of the organization, and is committed to the Ministry of Choices. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of pregnancy, abortion and related health issues. Must have passed the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation examination (SPI) and the OB/GYN examination and be certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Duties and Responsibilities Sonography: Verifies that patients have completed all required forms and consents prior to initiating any medical procedures. Conducts clinical assessments and performs limited obstetric or diagnostic ultrasound examinations as directed by the Nurse Practitioner or Medical Director, following established center policies and procedures. Utilizes cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as needed based on anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic findings. Exercises independent judgment during exams to distinguish normal from abnormal/pathological conditions accurately. Analyzes ultrasound images in conjunction with the patient's medical history and effectively communicates relevant findings to the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Director, or appropriate physician. Assumes responsibility for ensuring the safety, dignity, and physical and emotional comfort of patients throughout the sonographic examination. Clearly and promptly documents ultrasound findings and appointment details in accordance with center guidelines, and follows established protocols for responding to abnormal findings, including proper documentation and notifying appropriate medical personnel. Trains new sonographers and nurse sonographers in performing limited obstetric ultrasounds per center protocols. Assists with annual competency assessments of sonographers and nurse sonographers to ensure adherence to quality standards. Patient Care: Performs urine pregnancy tests, STI testing, health history intakes, and provides pregnancy test results to patients, as needed. Discusses all pregnancy options-abortion, adoption, and parenting-clearly, compassionately, and without judgment, ensuring patients are fully informed. Assesses patient needs and facilitates appropriate referrals for services such as medical care, housing, food assistance, employment support, and more; connects patients with the Patient Care Coordinator for further assistance and follow-up. Administrative Duties: Maintains ultrasound equipment and exam areas in clean, functional condition to ensure safety, reliability, and readiness for patient care. Monitors inventory levels of ultrasound-related supplies and promptly communicates ordering needs to the appropriate staff to avoid shortages. Proactively manages assigned projects that contribute to the growth and improvement of Choices' patient services, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
