Responsibilities As a Gate Inspector, you'll be the first line of defense in maintaining safety and efficiency at our intermodal facility. You'll be responsible for inspecting all inbound and outbound units using a computer system and/or handheld device, ensuring only authorized equipment and personnel enter or exit the premises. Your role is critical in supporting on-site logistics and keeping ConGlobal's operations running smoothly and securely. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections on inbound and outbound intermodal units. Utilize handheld devices and/or computer systems to log inspection data. Control facility access for vehicles and personnel, ensuring compliance with security protocols. Communicate with drivers, team members, and terminal personnel to coordinate safe and efficient movement. Support daily yard operations by helping maintain orderly flow and accurate equipment tracking. Identify and report any damages, hazards, or safety concerns. Qualifications Basic computer skills and the ability to use handheld devices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting, etc.). What you'll do: Determines and documents the modification status/configuration of products being processed for repair or overhaul to verify compliance to the applicable regulatory and customer requirements. Ensures the products to be inspected are sufficiently clean and in acceptable condition to perform the inspections necessary to complete the work instruction. Determines the repairability of those products not meeting the applicable requirements. Records the inspection results on the appropriate inspection documentation. Generates an estimate on the cost of replacement parts and labor necessary to complete the applicable work instructions. Generates the applicable documentation for the repair of unserviceable products. Inspects and identifies parts in the Reduced to Spares (RTS) process. Supervises detail inspection trainees in the on-the-job training (OJT) process. Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes. Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements. Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills as needed to support production requirements. Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements. Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions. Carries out other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment. Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints. Ability to use and interpret publications used in the production process (graphs, charts, schematics, blueprints). Proficient in technical writing. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day. Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods. Desired Skills Working knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systems. Previous inspection experience preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: X-ray wax patterns. Will be a liaison to Engineering regarding wax wall and x-ray wax patterns and cores. Provide feedback to Engineering to prevent wall excursions and core break. Perform x-ray and wax wall on a full-time basis. Keep the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition. Observe all safety requirements and wear proper required PPE at all times Properly identify your work performed in Lot Control and affix required identification. Keep the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe working condition. Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Perform all other duties assigned by supervision. QUALIFICATIONS: Will be required to go through on-site certification training and will be required to maintain certification Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills. Proven track record working in a team environment. Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency of applicable procedure instructions. REQUIREMENTS: Meet or exceed defined Visual Acuity (when required). Meet color perception standards needed in performance of job requirements (when required).
