AMN Healthcare is partnering with a top school district in York, PA to hire a School Psychologist to work in the area, providing services to children of all ages. This School Psychologist will provide counseling services to students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and to the regular student population (treating mood disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, conduct disorders) to foster positive coping strategies, motivation, and skill development. Responsibilities will include conducting psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and strengths, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional and behavioral issue. They will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments, provide crisis intervention and support for students and staff as needed. They will also coordinate outreach activities that support students and families including pediatricians, outside counseling agencies, and agencies such as DCF, DMH, etc.

JOB SUMMARY
To provide therapeutic speech-lanaguage services to designated sutdents in schools/educational seetings and provide evaluative, diagnositc, and ongoing assessment in alignment with IDEA and PA School Code.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Teach individuals with speech and language disabilities in the following areas: language, articulation, fluency, voice, oral motor, phonological, alphabetic principle-phonics, social language disorders, and other appropriate areas.
* Develop, implement and assess individualized education programs, and participate in school wide implementation of a standards aligned system.
* Understand and apply applicable laws and policies to assess speech and language disorders, develop and implement specific treatment regimens, and treat diagnosed disabilities.
* Demonstrated knowledge of communication and swallowing disorders and differences, including the appropriate etiologies, characteristics, anatomical/physiological, acoustic, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates in the following areas: Articulation; fluency; voice and resonance, including respiration and phonation; receptive and expressive language (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, pre-linguistic communication and paralinguistic communication) in speaking, listening, reading, writing; hearing, including the impact on speech and language; cognitive aspects of communication (attention, memory, sequencing, problem-solving, executive functioning); social aspects of communication (including challenging behavior, ineffective social skills and lack of communication opportunities); and augmentative and alternative communication modalities.
* Assess the effects of speech and language disorders on educational performance and to plan and manage assessment and intervention of student instruction.
* Able to provide professional development; serve in the role of mentor or advisor; and, assist students in understanding how to read content area materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
* PA Instructional I or II Certificate: Speech and Language Impaired PK-12 (9265) OR Specialist - School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12 (1883),
* AND, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA-CCC) and Pennsylvania license, preferred
* Related experience preferred including the presentation of educational professional development with demonstrated knowledge and practices
* Demonstrated ability to work in a positive and effective manner with students
* Completion of all mandated pre-employment documents and information

Formulates treatment programs, and maintains Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems as needed to address Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives and Specially Designed Instruction (SDIs)
Serves as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for planning, problem solving, and progress monitoring of students and IEP
Actively participates in team meetings, IEP meetings, and Treatment Plan meetings, and maintains communication with parents/guardians, school district personnel, and outside agency representatives
Participates in professional development activities in order to maintain necessary certifications and licensure, and contributes to staff development and coaching
Maintains accurate and complete records, and effectively documents and/or bills for services delivered in accordance with IEP standards and billing guidelines
Completes other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The following positions or frequent movements are typical of the job: sitting, walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling, often for extended periods of the workday. Assignment may require the ability to physically move students during possible physical interventions in order to maintain a safe learning environment.
The position requires that an individual be able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively. Job requirements may change frequently. The ability to understand and carry out detailed, involved, instructions is mandatory. The incumbent must be able to travel to multiple locations as needed, when needed to conduct organizational business. Subject to inside environmental conditions.
EXPECTED SCHEDULE
This is a minimum full-time position with a 40-hour work week expectation, unless otherwise agreed upon by management, the department/caseload needs, and The Vista School student calendar.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited university or college is required
PA Teacher Certification in Speech or Educational Specialist Certification is required
Valid PA Speech and Language Pathology Licensure or minimum qualifications for Clinical Fellowship Year eligibility is required
Successful completion of Vista's crisis intervention training is required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology highly desired
Experience working with individuals with Autism using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis highly desired
Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and organizational skills
Effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
Problem solves in a positive manner to analyze issues and create action plans
