Your Job as a Substance Use Counselor:
The Substance Use Counselor is instrumental in our patient's treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.
Job Responsibilities:

Qualifications
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Master's degree in social or health services field required;
Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques.
Documentation experience, including maintaining clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

The Manger of Youth and Family Counseling Services will provide direct supervision and support to Counseling and Case Management staff, with a primary focus on Sanctuary and A Step Forward - two residential programs co-located within our Royal Oak office. As a key leader of the RHY management team, this position assists in coaching and indirect supervision of all RHY specialist staff and helps in managing overall program design, decision-making, and progression toward program objectives. The Manager of Youth and Family Counseling Services will be committed to implementing a trauma-informed and Positive Youth Development approach throughout their work
Responsibilities & Duties
Staff Management, Supervision, and Training Responsibilities:
* Recruit, train, and supervise skilled counseling and case management staff to support runaway and homeless youth and families, as needed.
* Assign cases on an ongoing basis, ensuring and effective and equitable caseload distribution that maximizes productivity and quality of services.
* Review case records and documentation for completeness, consistency, and quality of services provided.
* Facilitate weekly case conferencing with counseling, case management, and relevant program staff to support youth and family goals.

NeuLife Rehabilitation of Michigan provides rehabilitation and residential services for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and Neurological Disorders.
Summary: The Licensed Therapeutic Counselor provides oversight of behavioral therapies across the company and works alongside the management team to develop new programs and expand current programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct assessments on persons served residing within the program.
Develop and manage comprehensive behavioral approaches and behavioral plans for persons served.
Provide training to management team, direct care staff, etc., as needed, on the implementation and documentation of behavioral plans.
Provide behavioral services representation at person served team meetings.
Monitors behavior plan goals and submits progress reports on behavior therapy to billing department.
Attend appointments as needed and communicate with person served team.
Provides after-hours on-call services if needed for persons served having behavioral issues.
Other duties as assigned.
Approximately 20-30 hours/week
Qualifications
Master's level degree in health and human services field
LMSW, LPC, LCSW, BCBA or similar state licensure required
Two to five years' experience in working with developmentally disabled or catastrophically injured individuals, including traumatic brain injury
Attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize independently
The ability to multi-task and in a busy office environment
Proficient customer service skills
Advanced knowledge of MS Office
Willingness to travel to different NeuLife Rehabilitation locations throughout Macomb and Oakland counties

Performs comprehensive evaluations, assessing the needs of patients and their families, and sets measurable objectives and goals that are formulated in conjunction with the rehabilitation team. Adjusts treatment plan to achieve maximum results in independence and/or function
Provides empirically based psychological interventions to the patients and families as appropriate for their specific needs to maximize and encourage their participation with the community at large
Designs community reintegration activities to assist the patient with their psychological/cognitive needs during physical activity
Assists the patient in understanding their needs and limitations and how to manage them during function
Regularly re-assesses effectiveness of treatment plan, progress of patient towards goals and the need for modifying goals or treatment

Consults with medical providers regarding patient evaluation & treatment, progress of the patient & discharge from treatment

Qualifications
Master's or doctoral degree in counseling or a counseling-related field from an accredited college or university, as determined by the state licensing requirements
Current professional license and/or certification as required by the state of practice
A minimum of one year of post master's degree clinical experience and counseling individuals with traumatic or acquired brain injuries or related neurological conditions
Knowledge of complex neurologic injury rehabilitation techniques
Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Able to work independently and part of a team
Has reliable transportation and can travel to/from multiple assignments/ locations on a daily basis
