Clinical Support Technician II needed for Critical Care Unit (CCU). The CCU is an 18 bed unit that provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to the most medically fragile adults. This position is located at the Hillsborough Campus. UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is a community hospital which is an extension of UNC Medical Center focusing on many of our elective surgical programs. The 163‐bed facility combines a community hospital culture with the innovative procedures and care for which the UNC Medical Center is known. The Hillsborough Hospital is located at 460 Waterstone Drive, Hillsborough, NC and offers free parking to employees. Night shifts (7:00pm ‐ 7:30pm) with weekend and holiday rotation. This position requires the ability to attend a week long orientation (Monday through Friday) which is offered every two weeks. Summary: The Clinical Support Technician II is responsible for assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and / or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and performing a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance of the patient care unit desk area functions. Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies. 4. Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry 5. Provide clinical support assistance to include, but not limited to, cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting common software and hardware problems, changing linens, checking supply inventory, re‐stocking supplies, transporting patients/ supplies/ specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new employees and students. 6. Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in plan of care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, assisting with ambulation. Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight. May be responsible for specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and/or postural drainage. Performs Oxygen room set‐up and monitors oxygen flow‐rate, performs oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal suctioning, tracheostomy care, fecal impaction removal, sterile dressing change wound irrigation, IV fluid assembly and monitoring, IV site care and discontinue peripheral IV, ostomy irrigation and care, urinary catheterization and irrigation, performs established oral, nasogastric, gastrostomy tube feeding 7. Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions. Forsyth County Department of Emergency Services is seeking dedicated and passionate first responder heroes to join our team as Advanced EMTs (AEMTs). AEMTs perform skilled work in providing prehospital medical care to sick or injured persons. The Advanced EMT is an intermediate EMS certification level recognized by the State of North Carolina between the Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic level certifications. These positions fill an important care gap between the EMT Basic and Paramedic positions. AEMT is credentialed to provide prehospital medical care above that which an EMT can provide at the advanced level. This includes intubation, intraosseous and intravenous fluid/medication administration, administer intramuscular injections, and administer epinephrine during cardiac arrest. An employee in this class performs advanced lifesaving techniques assigned to the AEMT by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services. Tact, courtesy, and firmness are required in dealing with sick or injured persons and with the general public. Work is performed according to established emergency medical procedures and techniques, but the employee must exercise considerable independent judgment in treating a patients symptoms and in providing basic and advanced patient care. Performs scrub activities based on principles of aseptic technique, infection control, universal precautions guidelines, environmental control, and life safety guidelines: anticipates needs of patient and surgeon; demonstrates critical thinking skills and prioritize activities when performing the scrub role; under supervision of the RN, demonstrates ability to prepare medications for procedures to be used by physicians; knows of routine drugs used intra-operatively, dosages, and/or concentration and appropriate route of administration. Prepares and knows the specific uses of equipment, instrumentation and supplies used for surgical procedures. Locates and operates equipment. Handles and operates equipment properly. Implements and maintains preference cards in an updated complete form utilizing automated process and clinical information systems appropriately and efficiently. Title: Surgical Assistant Practice: Greensboro Oral, Implant, & Facial Cosmetic Surgery Center Hours: Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Friday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM The surgical assistant is responsible for ensuring the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients while practicing and providing safety in the work environment. The ideal candidate will assist oral surgeons during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Responsibilities: Ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care and service Communicate with all patients (both in-person and by phone) in a friendly and professional manner. Maintain positive, pleasant, and professional relationships between patients, staff members, and surgeons. Oral surgeons during surgical procedures and prepare instruments, materials, and equipment needed for various surgical procedures.
