Certified surgical technologists are responsible for preparing the operating room, including but not limited to, the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment, supplies, etc. During surgery, the certified surgical technologists contribute to patient care by assisting the surgeon with instrumentation, supplies, specimens, and control of the sterile, surgical field. They are instrumental in preventing foreign retained objects. (Association of Surgical Technologists, 2022).
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for scrubbing on all major and minor surgical procedures as assigned.
2. Participates with patient assessments while planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
3. Performs circulating duties under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide care and safety to all patients.
4. Responsible for maintaining operating room suite supplies, pulling procedures, assisting with continuing education, precepting, and orientation of all staff.
5. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psych/social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
6. Participates in various hospital activities as appropriate and as directed by the Manager

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Certified Surgical Tech First Assist is a proficient level practitioner who assists surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures in the operating room in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization. Essential Job Functions

* Retrieves and collects specimens and labels specimens appropriately and correctly.
* Reports any implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing to the circulator.

As an EMT with Ohio Ambulance Solutions, you will provide emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Administering non-invasive therapies, including pulmonary ventilation, application of bandages, immobilization of fractures and various other tasks.

· Transporting the patient to the appropriate medical facility.
· Documentation of the nature of illness and treatment provided while en route to the facility. This documentation is a legal document required for accurate communication to staff at facility as well as for proper billing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Completion of an Approved EMT Training Program and a valid Ohio EMT Certification.
