JOB TITLE: Surgical Scrub Tech-(Full-Time) Surgical Scrub Technician needed for fast paced ASC. Must have minimum 2 years experience. CPR required. * Clean surgical instruments for the orthopedic surgery department, record vitals, file medical records, and maintain autoclave documentation. * Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure * Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery * Preparing the patient for surgery * Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation * Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation * Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation * Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery

RESPONSIBILITIES Job Specific Competencies: Performs duties and anticipates to assist the physician and provide needed supplies and equipment in anticipation of the procedure. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of sterilization, aseptic techniques. Assists in maintaining the supply inventory and practices cost awareness measures as applicable. Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs of the facility that seek to determine what medication errors are taking place, when, where, and why they occur, and how they can be prevented. Ensure that documentation of the drug receipt error includes a written error report, signed by an observer/witness and you. Accurately measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents. Promptly notify the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of any errors or reactions to medications by residents. Follow the medication card practices of the facility. Follow the facility procedure for recording the order in the resident's clinical record, including the type, route, dosage, frequency and strength of each medication. Requirements Qualifications and Skills Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent. Must be a licensed medication tech having successfully completed a state-approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State.
