The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiac and Imaging Manager. Under indirect supervision, the Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II provides high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist in a professional manner that is consistent with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This role requires independent and efficient performance of clinical Pediatric Echo operations in the hospital and procedural setting, entering full preliminary reports, covering all MUSC Pediatric Echo Lab locations and shifts including call rotation. This role organizes and prioritizes patient exams and contributes to unit teamwork. Echocardiography experience in the setting of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cath Lab preferred. This position requires travel to outreach locations working with the Pediatric Cardiologist and support team. This role requires the incumbent to take call for the Pediatric Echo Lab. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
