Job Description

Aqua-Tots Swim School is seeking a part-time, compassionate, and patient swim instructor to teach our SNAP (Students Needing Adaptive Programing) swim lessons.
This role is perfect for paraprofessionals, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational or behavioral therapists, or anyone with experience supporting children with adaptive needs who are looking for a part-time (5-10 hours a week) opportunity to use their existing skills in a new and fun way.
No prior swimming experience is required. We will provide comprehensive training in our curriculum and equip you with the tools to adapt it to your existing strengths and expertise with special needs children.
Please only apply if you are comfortable working weekends, as we are specifically looking for someone available to work either a Saturday or Sunday shift from 3-8 PM. This position requires a dedicated, responsible individual-consistency is essential when working with children with Adaptive needs.
Plus, with a starting pay of $27 - $30 an Hour you can earn a competitive wage while doing what you love.

EXPERIENCE:
Ten (10) years with military/DoD training of related experience with intelligence areas as outlined in the general duties/experience. Completion of a recognized instructor course (i.e. Marine Corps Instructor, FLEX, DLEC, or equivalent).

Educational achievement equivalent to completion of or currently attending high school. Additional training in area of specialization related to aquatics is desired.
EXAMINATION PROCESS:
Qualified candidates will be evaluated for employment consideration on the basis of a written exam and physical performance test.
* The written examination will cover first aid, CPR, and lifeguard training skills.
* The performance test may include a 100 yard swim under 2:00; 2-minute tread water; and rescue demonstration of submerged, active/passive victims.
An oral interview of those best qualified will be used to rank applicants for final selection.
Special Requirements: May be required to provide means to commute between work sites in course of work, including the use of personal vehicle during assigned shifts. Contact, via telephone, all absent students as required by the college.
Maintain an overall student attendance rate in accordance with the college's fiscal year attendance goal as measured at the end of the each term/module and annually.

B. Instructional Presentation

Assist in maintaining a clean lab and equipment in an operable condition.

Physical Demands of the Position:

The Junior C2 Instructor supports the delivery of Command and Control (C2) training at MISTC. Working under the guidance of senior instructors, this role helps plan, prepare, and deliver BSTEX and MISTC instruction that supports Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) operations and the mission of Training and Education Command (TECOM).
The Junior C2 Instructor contributes to classroom, simulation, and exercise-based training, and assists with course materials, student support, and training execution.

Responsibilities

Graduation from a formal Military Instructor Development Course or equivalent formal instructor training.
Demonstrated experience delivering or supporting training for Marine Corps units or other military audiences.
Basic understanding of Marine Corps C2 systems, doctrine, and MAGTF staff processes.
Ability to follow approved lesson plans and instructor guidance while maintaining professionalism and classroom control.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence speaking in front of groups.
