Maintain consistent performance when dealing with all students with respect to grading, documentation, policies, and discipline. 5. Provide student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects. 7. Review academic progress with students on a regular basis, well in advance of the end of a course. 8. Ensure the classroom/laboratory facility is left in a clean and orderly manner upon conclusion of your scheduled session. 9. Supervise and manage assigned teaching and laboratory assistants. 10. Contact, via telephone, all absent students as required by the college. 11. Maintain an overall student attendance rate in accordance with the college's fiscal year attendance goal as measured at the end of the each term/module and annually. 12. Maintain an overall student retention rate in accordance with the college's fiscal retention goal as measured at the end of each module/term and annually. B. Instructional Presentation 1. Provide additional assignments/projects as student progress dictates. 6. Assist in maintaining a clean lab and equipment in an operable condition. 7. Conduct initial troubleshooting measures on PCs and lab equipment and promptly label and report all equipment in need of repair. 8. Must stay in accordance with a 1:8 ratio Maintains records as required (i.e.attendance, progress reports, etc.) and tracks progress of class participants using appropriate skill sheets. Informs supervisor of any changes/additions to rosters immediately. Submits rosters to supervisor at the conclusion of each session. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment. Work as a member of a team to design and implement swim related events and programs in alignment with the Associations strategic plan. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary. Responds immediately to all emergency situations using proper procedures/techniques. Performs a safe rescue for a participant in trouble and administers the necessary First Aid and completes reports. Maintains tidiness of pool and deck area (including gutters) during shift- Checks for band-aids, tissues, hair, etc. on deck and in drains and filter baskets. Never leaves equipment on deck after classes. Equipment must always be stacked neatly to avoid any accidents. Maintains positive relations and rapport with members, staff and volunteers at all times. Definition: Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, assists in the management and supervision of the general operation of the aquatic's facility, while performing the responsibilities of a swim coach and lifeguard. Essential Job Duties: The following tasks are essential for this position. Incumbents in this classification may not perform all of these tasks or may perform similar related tasks not listed here. * Designs, organizes, executes and maintain workout programs for both the novice and masters swim programs. * Maintains attendance and other related operations and financial records, prepares written reports and submits recommendations to the Recreation Supervisor. * Responds to questions and inquiries from the general public in a professional manner. * Establishes and maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with City staff and the general public. * Assists in conducting and participating in various training sessions. * Communicates with aquatic staff. Including swim school staff, lifeguards and swim instructors. * Maintains pool grounds and aquatic equipment used during training sessions and events, and assures pool facility is maintained in a neat, clean, and orderly manner. * Administers First Aid, CPR/AED, or rescuing swimmer(s), completes as needed. * Enforces pool rules, regulations and standards of safety within City policies and guidelines and in accordance with State health codes and the United States Swimming regulations. * Completes any/all required report after witnessing or providing assistance/care for any/all situations. * Oversees the maintenance of pool, including chemical balance, flow/filtration, heater/solar, etc. * Guards on deck, as needed. * Performs other related duties, as assigned. * Incumbent may work irregular schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Minimum Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Knowledge of: * American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. * America Red Cross Swim Coach Certification. * American Red Cross Water Safety Instruction Certification. * USA Swim Coach Head Coach certification ADM Age group certification for young swimmers. * USA Swim Coach Head Coach certification ADM Age group certification senior development swimmers. Training and Experience: * Three years of previous aquatics experience is required. * Three years of assisting coaching novice and adult/master swim programs and workouts. * Experience teaching/instructing swim lessons of all ages and skill levels. * Aquatic experience and participation in swimming for club, high school, college and/or master programs. Licenses and Certificates: * American Red Cross lifeguard current certification is required and to be maintained. * America Red Cross swim coach current certification is required and to be maintained. * American Red Cross water safety instruction current certification is required and to be maintained. * American Red Cross certificates in First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguarding is to be current certification is required and to be maintained. * All certificates must be maintained as a condition of employment and all certifications as currently required by USA swimming and the City must be maintained. License & Certificates: A valid First Aid Certificate which meets Emergency Medical Service Authority requirements, a valid Water Safety Instructor's Certificate, and a valid Lifeguard Certificate from authorized providers, as determined by the Management Services department, at time of appointment. Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Communicable Disease Certificates from authorized providers, as determined by the Management Services department, within two weeks of appointment. Seeking an enthusiastic Viola instructor to teach in local Arcadia, San Gabriel/San Marino music school. Instructor should be able to teach up to Classical advanced level music. Bachelor's in Music performance degree or higher is required. Minimum 3 years of teaching experience or higher is preferred. Music Teachers' Association of California membership is preferred, but not required. Position is part-time, but should be available to teach 2-3 days a week, including weekday afternoons after 2 PM and Sat/Sun 9am-5pm.
