PRINCIPAL EPYC CUSTOMER PLATFORM ARCHITECT/ SYSTEMS DESIGNER THE ROLE: It's a pivotal role where you draw from a broad spectrum of technical experience including silicon, platform hardware, and software to deliver sophisticated products. THE PERSON: As a deeply experienced senior system engineer with breadth across system and/or chip development, you work across swim lanes and guide system-level server technical execution. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: In this role you will utilize the latest technological and scientific methods to develop and fully optimize EPYC SoC products and platforms. Identify opportunities to advance current methods, design experiments, conduct Proof of Concept studies, build consensus, and apply new techniques directly to products in development. Your track record of accomplishment at the Principal Engineer level will enable you to prioritize, drive, and influence throughout the organization and externally to deliver groundbreaking results for EPYC customers and AMD's server business. Work at depth across silicon design, system validation, manufacturing test, firmware, and other disciplines to optimize power, performance and TCO through to launch. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: * Deep knowledge of system architecture and design including memory, I/O, signal integrity, power integrity, packaging, power delivery, thermal, mechanical, power management, boot process, FW and hardware management. * Extensive knowledge and experience in technical debug and validation strategies of x86 Server platforms for Cloud and HPC platforms * Proven track record of working with top technology companies to jointly engineer best-in-class products based on new SoCs/CPUs/chipsets. * Expert ability to break complex system-level problems down into manageable pieces and drive resolution through design of experiments and data-driven decisions. * Demonstrated ability to establish credibility with both engineering and leadership counterparts at top technology companies, communicate technical results and positions clearly and accurately, and drive alignment on solutions. * Experience leading and directing the work of other domain specialists across engineering disciplines and geographies to deliver excellent results. * Strong debug skills with proven track record of debugging complex issues all the way to root cause and delivering quality solutions. * Experience developing and delivering customer communications to bring clarity to complex situations. * Proven track record of innovation as demonstrated by shipping products * Experience in Power/Performance and/or Post-Silicon validation * Excellent communication capability * Demonstrated experience in customers engagement through the platform design, debug, validation and launch cycles * Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field LOCATION: Austin, TX Santa Clara, CA #LI-LM1 #LI-HYBRID Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance. Attend and host meetings independently on behalf of Paladin. Take and distribute accurate and timely notes to the team, follow up with action items assigned and communicate company commitments. Coordinate and interact with estimators and engineers throughout the organization, including all geographies across North America, to develop project budgets, technical design requirements and scopes of work related to the design of all sub-disciplines of Low Voltage Technology Systems. Coordinate and interact with the Sales team and other Project Sponsors to understand the needs and expectations of the client and project and to ensure the best possible client experience. Prepare detailed and accurate budgets, utilizing technical estimating resources where necessary. Perform electronic takeoffs using Bluebeam software as directed. Manage the Designers assigned projects to include billing, cash flow, cost projections and schedule management. Create technology systems flow line diagrams. Develop Security riser diagrams, door details, and mounting diagrams. Develop network diagrams. Perform the Designer's own drafting and modeling using Autodesk CAD and Revit software as needed and as practical. Coordinate and collaborate closely with Paladin's Drafters and BIM Modelers to provide clear CAD requests, feedback, and guidance for Drafting and modeling work related to the Designers projects that will be performed by the VDC team. Provide supplemental Peer Reviews of designs and documentation prepared by others throughout the organization as directed. Participate in both internal and external kickoff meetings as needed to support a smooth transition and exchange of information as a project passes from the design to the build phase. Perform construction administration on design projects as assigned. Provide advice, assistance and support to estimators, engineers, project managers and other Paladin employees when requested. Provide support for existing or potential customers with the utmost professionalism at all times whether on the phone, in writing (email or text/direct message) or in person.
