College for Social Innovation (CFSI) brings together colleges and social sector organizations to create fully-credited experiential learning opportunities that are meaningful, accessible, and life-changing. Our college students, referred to as Social Innovation Fellows, build skills and a professional network that helps to position them to become the next generation of problem solvers for humanitys tough challenges. This is a part-time VIRTUAL position for the 2025-26 Academic Year, Sunday through Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. While this is a virtual position, candidates must reside in MA.
Our TAs contribute greatly to the success of our students and are an integral part of our Academy family. This may be a great fit for you if you enjoy interacting with students, guiding them as they work through challenging math and language arts problems, and helping them feel more confident about math and language arts concepts.
Academic year TAs work well independently and support students outside of their regular AoPS class time. TAs typically work with students from various classes/levels simultaneously to assist with homework and help students understand material they missed or may need further guidance on. Job Duties:
Host weekly office hours and on-demand tutoring sessions for students.
Work with students individually or in small groups.
Provide exceptional feedback on graded assignments.
Collaborate with instructors and full-time staff on student and classroom needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 16 years old or older
Possess strong math and language arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
Ability to work well independently with little supervision
Can successfully support small groups of students from various classes/levels simultaneously
Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
Exceptional written and spoken communication
Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
Detail-oriented and organized
Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is not required, but a plus
Location and Schedule:
Although this is a virtual position at our Lexington campus location, candidates must be located in Lexington or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus as needed to pick up teaching materials, proctor tests, etc.
AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends, so candidates must be available to work during weekday after-school hours and/or on weekends. We are currently hiring someone who can work Sunday through Thursday between 6:30pm-8:30pm via Zoom.
