The Critical Work (Night Shift Focus): You will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, and repairing faults on active fiber optic infrastructure, often working solo or with minimal supervision. Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair cable plant failures on live, active networks. Utilize OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and end-of-line testing to identify faults, signal loss, and resolve distributed split network issues. Complex Splicing: Execute complex splicing operations (color-for-color and off-color) in difficult enclosures. Perform high-count re-entries (144ct and 288ct), ribbonizing, and butt splicing . Build, populate, and swap fiber cases/enclosures and manage tie point connections. Physical & Field Work: Perform work both aerial and underground, requiring the ability to climb poles/ladders and work in confined spaces. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Who Should Apply (Level Based): Level II/III Technician: Experience: 2+ years hands-on fiber splicing (aerial/UG).
