The Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University seeks to recruit a tenure-track faculty scientist or physician-scientist at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.
The Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center has a vibrant and interdisciplinary research program focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of thrombosis and hemostasis and developing new therapeutic strategies for blood diseases.
The Section of Hematology in the Department of Medicine at LKSOM provides inpatient consult service and outpatient hematology clinics for patients with classical as well as malignant hematologic disorders. The faculty teach clinical fellows, residents, medical students, and physician assistant students and participate in clinical and translational research. The physician-scientist will be a member of the Section of Hematology and have outpatient clinics focused on hemostasis and thrombotic disorders. He/She will practice out of the flagship Temple University Hospital, a 746-bed tertiary care facility with robust clinical hematology and oncology programs, that is adjacent to the Medical School.

Candidate Qualifications
* Qualified applicants will have Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, demonstrating the ability to develop an independent, extramurally funded research laboratory.
* Must have an active research program in hemostasis, thrombosis, infectious disease models with emphasis on hemostasis and thrombosis, platelet biology and signal transduction, or regulation of coagulation.
* Possess academic credentials for a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The successful candidate must have multiple publications in respectable peer-reviewed journals, excellent interpersonal and writing skills, and experience writing NIH grants. Experience in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students is welcome.
* Physician-scientists must be BE/BC in Hematology and eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

A Brief Overview
Provides physical therapy services to an assigned caseload of children. Services include patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent education, communication and coordination with medical and allied medical staff.
What you will do
Examines each patient using age-appropriate assessment procedures to determine the patient's physical function, both abilities and disabilities. Uses the data to develop the patient's physical therapy diagnosis (e.g. dysfunctional ambulation) and prognosis. Specifies the plan of care, including long and short-term goals, outcomes and the duration and frequency of interventions.
Prepares written evaluation specifying examination results and physical therapy diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention plan. Documents the patient's problems, long-term and short-term goals, and outcomes of intervention including specific interventions to be used, and the duration and frequency of intervention required to reach the goals and outcomes, and criteria for discharge.
Performs the physical therapy procedures to achieve the stated goals utilizing techniques, which take into account the patient's developmental, and social maturity. Supervises the PTA or exercise technician in implementation of the plan.
Designs, fits, fabricates, and examines the effectiveness of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices for assigned patients; supervises outside purchase of such devices which cannot be provided by the department.
Communicates with physicians, other team members and family regarding the patient's goals and progress. Participates in patient conferences as assigned as a member of the health care team. Participates in discharge planning. Provides a written discharge summary, which specifies goals and recommendations for future intervention.

A Brief Overview
Under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist, with support as needed, provides evaluation and treatment of speech, language, oral motor function and dysphagia to an assigned group of patients. * 2) Outpatient Services - Provide speech and language services to a varied population of children with developmental, neurological, and medically based communication and swallowing disorders, including specific time dedicated to outpatient dysphagia services.
* 3) Inpatient Rehabilitation - Provide speech and language services to a varied population of children with developmental, neurological, and medically based communication and swallowing disorders, including specific time dedicated to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Program.
What you will do
Evaluates patients with known or suspected communication disorders (including speech, language, oral motor dysfunction and dysphagia) using both non-standardized and standardized evaluation tools. Records evaluation findings according to Departmental and Hospital procedures. Refers patients to medical and educational services, when appropriate.
Develops an individual therapy plan for each assigned patient which includes goals of treatment. Updates goals and records patient progress according to Departmental and Hospital procedures.
Presents and defends evaluation findings, progress and recommendations to patients, families/significant caregivers, and health care professionals. Instructs family members and caregivers in home therapy programs. Consults with health care and educational staff to promote the patients' communication skills.
Participates in Departmental or program-based functions (i.e., staff meetings, Departmental continuing education activities, work group meetings/committees, and equipment/supplies maintenance and ordering).
Completes all requirements for American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Clinical Fellowship and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND program.

A Brief Overview
The Medical Interpreter I supports provision of family-centered care by mediating communication between clinicians or staff and patient families who prefer a Language Other than English (PLOE). A Brief Overview
Reporting directly to the Business Continuity Manager, the Business Continuity program is a separate service line within Emergency Preparedness. Working closely with the program leadership team, partner organizations, technical staff, and business units to define and apply CHOP's unified business continuity management objectives. With strong communication, relationship building, technical and leadership skills, the Analyst will partner with the Business Continuity team to integrate business continuity into a cohesive strategy. They will design and implement scalable solutions that align with the CHOP system goals and effectively address business objectives and requirements in our acute, outpatient and research environments. The primary work location will be at the Philadelphia Campus, but there may be occasional work at other CHOP locations for system-wide initiatives.
The Business Continuity Analyst will work with department leadership, staff, as part of the Emergency Preparedness department to operationalize and coordinate the businesses continuity program including the department level business impact analysis, business continuity planning and departmental downtime procedures. Additionally, they will work closely with Digital & Technology Services (DTS) on Disaster Recovery planning and technical contingencies.
What you will do
* Develop, implement, and maintain the Business Continuity program in collaboration with Emergency Preparedness (EP), Digital Technology Services (DTS), and guidance from the Business Continuity (BC) Manager.
* Collaborate with departmental stakeholders in an enterprise-wide federated model to assess and categorize risks for developing departmental and system-level business continuity plans including downtime processes.
* Collaborate with clinical, technical, and operational departments to conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) using Service Now.
* Assist departments in creating clear, area-specific Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and map all existing processes across the organization to maintain a comprehensive inventory of BC resources.
* Support the maintenance of digital BC processes on Policy Manager and physical copies in units/offices with departmental stakeholders.
* Design, implement, present, and document educational programs, exercises, and training for business continuity readiness.
* Collaborate with the EP team during major technology incidents to coordinate response activities, including facilitating situational awareness, disseminating mass communications, and deploying BC assets and resources.
* Develop After-Action Reports and Improvement Plans following significantly impactful incidents to capture a comprehensive review of capabilities and define action items for addressing critical gaps or opportunities.
Education Qualifications

A Brief Overview

The Clapper Lab is seeking a Scientific Technician I to assist in the conduct of preclinical experiments focused on the development of new agents for the early interception of cancer. This entry-level technician will support ongoing research by performing laboratory experiments, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring efficient daily operation in the lab. The position involves hands-on work with several novel strains of mice, the preparation and administration of experimental treatments, tissue processing, and general laboratory support. Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain established mouse colonies and keep accurate electronic/hard-copy records.
· Conduct drug treatment studies, using various routes of drug administration.

· Perform specialized techniques, including mouse endoscopy and intratracheal instillation, and support small animal imaging studies (IVIS, MRI).

A Brief Overview
The Psychologist provides psychological services to patients throughout the CHOP inpatient and ambulatory enterprise; participates in the educational experience of trainees; establishes plan and initiates professional growth and leadership within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, and presents work at the local or regional level. In some settings, the psychologist may have a matrixed reporting relationship to a physician leader outside the Department.
What you will do
Clinical Activity
* Provides comprehensive assessment and treatment services to children and families, in inpatient, day hospital, and/or outpatient settings, and communicates with referral sources as indicated
* Performs clinical services at a percent of effort as designated by supervisor.
* Adheres to DCAPBS productivity standards.
* In settings where patients are scheduled into appointments, presents an Epic schedule that rolls out, per department/division guidelines, delineating availability and anticipated vacation and conference time. Schedule must include enough openings to cover productivity expectations plus anticipated late cancellations/no shows.
* Follows all CHOP and DCAPBS policies and procedures regarding clinical and administrative activity associated with providing direct patient care.
* Assure that professional practice is in accordance with applicable professional and licensing body standards
* Practices as an Independent Clinician
* Assures that CHOP, DCAPBS, Joint Commission and other regulatory body patient care standards are met.
* Assures that all CHOP and DCAPBS clinical and billing documentation standards are met
* Assures that all of the above standards are met through regular and periodic direct observation of clinical activity, chart review and discussion with non-DCAPBS team members.
* May serve in clinical leadership roles such as:
* Developing clinical and treatment protocols, peer education programs, and monitoring compliance through direct observation and chart review
* Collaborating with other DCAPBS clinicians to operationalize and grow empirically-based models of care that best serve the needs of patients
* Acting as a resource and mentor for DCAPBS clinicians
* Demonstrating leadership in developing programs and designing/executing QI and/or patient safety initiatives
Collaboration
* Collaborate with DCAPBS and other Department/Division colleagues to assure that patients receive care consistent with patient circumstance and need.
* Respond to requests for consultation and service in a timely manner.
* Participates in DCAPBS and CHOP committees in membership and/or leadership capacity
* Work collaboratively with DCAPBS administration to support patients in being appropriately scheduled.
* Attends and participates in department/division/institution meetings appropriate for or required by role.
Teaching
* Participates in education and training within the department's training programs. This may include providing clinical supervision, lectures, and facilitated learning experiences
* Establishes themselves as providing high-quality educational experiences for department trainees
* Contributes to interprofessional training activities and experiences
* Participates in activities of the training faculty
* Engages in professional activities
* Membership in national professional organizations, for example, American Psychological Association (APA)
* Active in multiple DCAPBS, CHOP, regional, and national activities
* Participates in the dissemination of psychological science and/or clinical care at a local, regional or national level
Other
* Demonstrates commitment to Department/Division and hospital
* Completes all mandatory education requirements, annual PPD testing, flu vaccine and other vaccinations as per CHOP policy
* Maintain licensure including completion of required continuing education
* Collaborates with internal staff to complete CHOP requirements to include but not limited to Medical Staff Application
* Establish plans for professional growth with supervisor
* Participates in clinical program development
* Participates in community service
* Participates in ongoing professional practice evaluations as a clinician and peer reviewer
Education Qualifications
