The new leader will also play a vital role in the education of surgical residents, fellows, and medical students, and is expected to foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that supports innovation and continuous improvement. * The Division Chief, Burn Surgery and Medical Director, Burn Unit TUH, will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and clinical oversight for the Temple Burn Center, a facility verified by the American Burn Association (ABA) * The Temple Burn Center is the region's only ABA-verified burn center located within a Level 1 Trauma Center and affiliated with an academic medical center, ensuring the highest standards of comprehensive burn care, research, and education. Temple Burn Center Temple Burn Center admits approximately 300 acute burns annually and treats >1600 outpatients in the burn clinic. The burn unit is a 10-bed freestanding ICU with an attached procedure room and burn-competent nurses, therapists, nutritionists, and psychologists. The burn center provides a full continuum of burn care, from acute resuscitation and surgical management, laser therapy, and scar reconstruction to outpatient management, rehabilitation, and survivor support. In collaboration with an attending physician, the Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for the direct care and follow-up of a population of patients that matches his/her delineation of privileges and skill set. The NPs and PAs in these roles may be required to have acute/critical care education and certification. This professional should possess strong organizational and time management skills, have some familiarity with pediatric care facilities, engage with empathy and supportive listening as well as have experience with supporting bereaved families. What you will do * Provides skilled psychosocial assessment and collaborates with care team in order to provide quality comprehensive treatment to patients and families. Evaluates the effectiveness of professional services and adjusts/redefines goals and modalities as indicated. Shares information regarding patient family situation with staff from other agencies and programs as appropriate in accordance with applicable confidentiality guidelines and relevant law. Ensures technician staff follows requirements for sealing, labeling, dating and proper storage of all products. Rotates product on a FIFO (first in : first out) basis and promptly removes any identified expired product from inventory/service. * Consistently utilizes, and models, Safety Behaviors for Error Prevention. * Ensures maintenance of records including, but not limited to: dish machine temperatures; eye wash check; donor human milk logs; scheduled cleaning; audits; data bases; etc. * Participates in department quality control activities including, but not limited to: order calculation accuracy; formula expiration audits; EOC rounds; etc. * Assists with ordering, inventory and receiving of formula, related supplies and equipment to maintain appropriate stock levels.
