We work with university cooperative education programs to alternate you through 3 - 5 work rotations. Each work rotation has a structured learning plan to enhance your education and introduce you to the perfect career path! The co-op rotation schedule allows for the perfect blend of academics and work experience to support you in a successful career! RESPONSIBILITIES The Co-op position will rotate for a minimum of 3 work terms, (4 months in length) in sequence with academic schedules, in multiple divisions across the U.S. Co-ops will learn about multiple career paths in our company, and will be trained to become a full-time employee after college graduation. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate at least 8 years of experience performing and managing building hazardous material (asbestos, lead paint, etc.) surveys, abatement oversight, and design and/or industrial hygiene projects. This is anticipated to be a seller/doer role, combining technical project execution with business development. On the business development side, responsibilities will include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and securing contracts (both internally and externally). This dual role requires a balance of technical expertise, project management skills, and business acumen to successfully grow the business while delivering exceptional service to clients. The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: + Managing and/or self-performing a wide range of hazardous building material and industrial hygiene projects for both private and public-sector clients + Collaborating with other licensed/certified professionals and technical/regulatory specialists on hazardous building material and industrial hygiene projects. These projects are expected to include survey and investigation work, abatement/remediation design, and abatement/remediation. + Provide technical and/or regulatory leadership for hazardous building material and industrial hygiene projects throughout New England, the US, and internationally. + Develop proposals, including work scope, budgets and schedules for hazardous building material survey/design/abatement and other industrial hygiene projects. + Manage or provide review of technical work and field activities, including performing oversight of projects to confirm work is being done in accordance with the contracted scope of work, budget, schedule and regulatory/industry standards. + Review, coordinate or prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandum; analyze data and develop supported conclusions. + Work collaboratively with other teams within the EHS department, Environment business line, and across AECOM's other internal business lines. + Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies and add value to client service offerings. + Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and supporting department growth through supporting internal and external sales. The successful candidate will have enough technical experience to be able to independently manage various sized field efforts and deliver associated reports for a wide variety of hazardous building material projects/surveys and industrial hygiene projects. They should possess strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively engage with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Job Description AECOM is actively seeking to add a Geologist V to our Chelmsford, MA office to work 32 hours a week. Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors. We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services. The role will be responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project-specific objectives and policies. The department is involved in many on-going efforts and continue to utilize top talent to exceed performance expectations. The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to: * Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge. * Makes recommendations on work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own discipline. * Makes recommendations on research requests, objectives, priorities, and timing. * Assess need for change and recommends development of standards. * Assess work against standards, objectives and specifications. * Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies when working on unusually complex technical problems. * Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. * Develops solutions which are highly innovative. Assignments are often self-initiated. Acts as advisor to management and clients. Oversees the work of less experienced scientists. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * BA/BS in Geology or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education * Professional Licensed Geologist (PG) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's Degree in Geology or related field * 9+ years of experience performing and leading site investigations that includes soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), analytical data interpretation and reporting. * Understanding of remediation consulting completing environmental investigations and site remediation * Project Management experience * Proficiency in GIS software. * Strong background in technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.) * Experience with various remediation technologies; vapor mitigation systems, AS/SVE systems, pump and treat systems, chemical injections, soil blending, thermal remediation, bio-sparge, etc. * Experience with groundwater modeling and numeric computing programs * Current OSHA 30-Hr Construction Training * Experience with programs and/or PFAS investigations * Familiarity with State (i.e., MADEQ, etc.) and Federal Environmental Regulations Additional Information * Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. * Relocation is not available for this position.
