Summary: To service customer vehicles in a professional and timely manner by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses and tire cages while doing any work. Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks Unbolt wheels from vehicles and remove them, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools. Separate tires from wheels, using rubber mallets and metal bars or mechanical tire changers. Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes and tears. Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plugs into punctures, using hand tools. Reassemble tires onto wheels. Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply. Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels. Remount wheels onto vehicles. Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles. Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects. Rotate tires to different positions on vehicles, using hand tools. Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed. Inflate inner tubes and immerse them in water to locate leaks. Clean sides of whitewall tires. Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting. Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy. Job Responsibilities Examine and diagnose vehicles Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor Communicate additional service requests to service advisor Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman Provide labor time estimates to service advisor Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs Assist in mentoring technician trainees Attend company and factory training Keep current with factory technical bulletins Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste) Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Full-time Description BERT OGDEN HARLINGEN KIA SERVICE LUBE TECHNICIAN The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: · Adheres to express lube guidelines. · Performs lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints. · Reports all necessary repairs to service advisor. · Installs completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle. · Checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed -Checks coolant level and refills as necessary. · Ensures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints. · Checks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels. · Maintains CSI at or above Company standards · Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area · Participates in required training · Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system · Follows Safeguards rules and regulations. · Demonstrates the Company's Core Values · Complies with Company policies and procedures · Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties. · Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications: *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. *The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. **Must be 21 years or older. **Must have a valid Texas Driver License. **Must be able to pass a drug screening **Must be able to pass a background check.
