Penn Tool was founded as a partnership in 1976 in New Castle, Pennsylvania.
The company was incorporated in 1978 at which time the operations were moved to Youngstown, Ohio.
TSS Solutions was formed in 1991 by a team of highly creative engineers with the sole objective of providing the telecommunications industry with high quality, responsive, and cost-effective technical support services.
In 2017, Acorn Growth Companies, a private equity firm investing exclusively in the Aerospace, Defense and Intelligence industries acquired TSS. The acquisition marked Acorn’s first in the defense electronics segment.
