The Initiative for Global Leadership is entering its 40th year at Tufts, where it is an incubator of innovative ways to educate learners at all levels to understand and engage with difficult global issues. The IGL at Tisch College develops new generations of effective and ethical leaders who are able and driven to comprehend complexity, reflect cultural and political nuance, and engage as responsible global citizens in anticipating and confronting the world's most pressing problems. Under the supervision of the Special Advisor Global for Strategy, the Program Administrator oversees multiple student groups working with the IGL. This role will support the IGL programs of TILIP, Inquiry, EPIIC and the student groups, such as the Middle East Research Group, Women in International Relations, and ALLIES (civil-military relations), among others. The Program Administrator will be a part of the student programs team at Tisch College and help support multiple programs as well as general needs.
Duties:
* Support development of program, goals, and on campus programming, including planning and implementing specific subset of student programs and affiliated clubs/organizations, as well as logistics.
* Coordinate with affiliated student groups administrator; main point of contact for information for Student Groups on administrative logistics .
* Coordinate with Program Administrators across Tisch College to develop activities for Tisch-affiliated student organizations.
* Initiate and maintain interaction with TILIP international schools and delegations, maintain international student database; facilitate interaction among the schools; work with students and schools on visas; main point of contact for information.
* Main point of contact for information for Inquiry high schools and teachers; help students schedule zoom and meeting times with assigned schools; help with the recruitment of schools.
* Coordinate with the Program Administrator for affiliated groups across Tisch College to develop activities for Tisch-affiliated student organizations.
* Develop and implement orientation, workshops, visits to program partner organizations off-campus, lectures, closing, presentations, and other events for student programs including during the academic year, summer, and student breaks (winter, spring).
* Research and purchase travel and accommodations for the Initiative for Global Leadership student group trips, including coordinating logistics with students and managing the travel budget.
* Coordinate and execute IGL program events including reserving event spaces, student and speaker travel, accommodations, catering, etc..
* Collaborate with and serve as a liaison between Tisch College student programs team and campus partners relevant to distinct programs and student clubs.
* With the Associate Director of Research and Development for Tisch College, implement and support program evaluation and assessment, suggesting revisions based on findings.
* Support program admissions and recruitment for select opportunities, including communications, information sessions, application review and selection.
* Participate in development and monitoring of budgets for subset of student programs and affiliated clubs/organizations.
* Collaborate with the Special Advisor for Global Strategy to suggest program updates and development of new student programs in line with the mission and vision of Tisch College and Tufts University.

HNRCA investigators conduct the world's most advanced studies on nutrition and aging. The research focuses on determining the nutrient and physical activity requirements necessary to promote well-being for older adults. HNRCA scientists examine how nutrition and physical activity play a major role in the prevention of the major chronic degenerative conditions and diseases associated with aging.
The Comparative Biology Unit (CBU) is a ~25,000-square-foot animal research facility that is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). The unit offers a wide range of services including: comprehensive animal care, transgenic rodent breeding services, veterinary surveillance, diet preparation and individualized animal dietary services, animal monitoring, surgery and necropsy. In addition, the CBU houses, operates, and manages the HNRCA rodent behavior and in vivo imaging core. The CBU adheres to strict environmental control guidelines and complies with the Animal Welfare Act provisions, and animal welfare guidelines such as the NIH Guide of the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals standards. All animal studies are reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
What You'll Do
This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.
The Lead Research and Animal Care Technician will be primarily responsible for day-to-day operation of the CBU's behavior and imaging core, under the guidance of the CBU Associate Director. They will also be responsible for supervision of CBU staff and perform daily monitoring, husbandry, and care of lab animals when delegated by Associate Director of the CBU. This position reports to and works closely with the Associate Director of the CBU.
Essential Functions:
* Supervise and perform basic husbandry duties as required and maintain appropriate detailed records.
* Run day-to-day operations including behavioral testing, small rodent imaging, managing multiple ongoing behavioral/imaging experiments, SOP writing, etc.

About the Opportunity
Under the guidance of the Chair, the Administrative Officer provides administrative support for the operation of the English Department. This includes supporting the Chair in managing multiple budgets, in addition to helping manage the budget of faculty members with external grants; scheduling courses; managing the office; maintaining all personnel files; and coordinating materials for merit, tenure and other faculty reviews. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Event Planning and Management (50%)
Full responsibility to plan, manage and execute logistics for a broad range of events as assigned. Manage the major meetings, receptions, and events. Prepare event timelines, event budgets and contingency plans. Manage event logistics and project details. Identify and secure event venue and vendors. If it's an on-campus event, work with University venue managers, building services, physical plant, catering, audiovisual, parking, public safety, business office, and other constituencies. If using non-University vendors, negotiate low prices on behalf of DIBI; negotiate terms of the agreement and facilitate University process for contractual agreements. Work with internal constituencies to prepare invitations and develop guest lists. Recruit, supervise and educate staff (volunteers) on relevant logistics of the events. Monitor progress of event preparations and expenditures. Adjust or make recommendations concerning master budget and timeline to ensure that events are successfully executed, event goals are achieved, and expenditures are within budget. On site presence required at events, including evening and weekends to respond to and resolve issues on event site.
2) Event Tracking and Analysis (30%)
Maintain DIBI events calendar of both internal and external events. Evaluate external events and provide analysis and recommendations for DIBI participation, including sponsorship opportunities, collaborations, public speaking, exhibitions, and other forms of event participation. Work with the Senior Director of Public Outreach to inform the DIBI engagement strategy and to proactively advise the DIBI team about events.
3) Event Assessment/Evaluation (10%)
Review and report on event evaluations, as appropriate. Create statistical reports of event outcomes. Conduct post-event reviews to identify areas of improvement in future event planning and follow up with key partners to integrate improvement ideas.
4) Establish Best Practices (10%)
Identify appropriate resources, e.g., professional experience, assessment/evaluation data, literature, other event managers, to develop a set of documents of best practices for delivery of accurate event procedures at the DIBI that strengthen and enhance the Institute and University image and support the organizational mission.
