THE POSITION

Victim Advocate II is the journey-level class in this series. Victim Advocate II is the experienced level classification. Incumbents are expected to perform the full range of duties, including the assignment of more difficult or complex cases. EXAMINATION PROCESS
Most County recruitments consists of the steps detailed below and are governed by Merit Principles. The examination process ensures that all applicants are given the same opportunity to gain employment within Stanislaus County.

* Eligible Lists. Candidates who pass the examination will be placed on an eligible list for that classification. Eligible lists are effective for six months, but may be extended up to eighteen months.

Essential Functions:
• Utilizes and maintains the PPE provided, care and clean company equipment used.
• Good knowledge of plant identification and quality.
• Follows proper planting techniques that involve pruning roots, proper depth placement, and proper irrigation.
• Assist in stocking trees after shifting.
• General care for the nursery grounds, keeping the nursery clean, organized, and safe for employees, customers, and vendors.
• General care for nursery stock (plants), ensures plants are watered, handled with care, and are placed in the appropriate location.
Additional tasks:
• May assist in other nursery departments as needed.
• Duties are subject to change at any time per management's discretion.
Job Specifications:
Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions on uneven ground surfaces and rainy weather. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (standing/sitting). Extensive walking. Stooping, kneeling, and crouching required. Bending at the waist, twisting, turning, and squatting is required.
Lifting requirements: Up to 50 lbs. 75 percent of the time. Up to 100 lbs. 25 percent of the time (team lift techniques when required).
Hand movement: Gross grasping for moving plant material. Use of hands/fingers.
