About the Role
WQED Multimedia seeks an imaginative, highly skilled, and self-motivated VideoEditor / Producer to create compelling marketing and promotional content that elevates the WQED brand and connects audiences with our rich variety of programs across television, radio, and streaming platforms.
This creative storyteller will play a key role in helping more people discover the depth and breadth of WQED's offerings-developing fresh, innovative campaigns that highlight our local storytelling, classical music, education, and PBS programming. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, initiative, and a passion for experimenting with new approaches to engage audiences across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
Submissions without a portfolio or work samples will not be reviewed. Please include links showcasing your editing and creative work, along with a cover letter briefly sharing how you would help more neighbors experience all that WQED offers.
This hybrid role requires a collaborative, in-person presence at least three days per week at WQED's studios in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities
Edit and produce promotional videos-including on-air promos, digital spots, and social content-that highlight WQED's programs, initiatives, and community impact.
Collaborate with producers, marketers, and content teams to develop creative campaigns that build awareness and drive audience engagement.
Design multi-platform promotional content optimized for broadcast, streaming, web, newsletters, and social media.
Create short-form video and motion assets supporting program launches, station events, and community initiatives.
Ensure brand consistency, editorial accuracy, and accessibility across all promotional materials.
Coordinate scheduling and delivery of promos to maximize visibility across WQED's platforms.

Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in video production, marketing, or a related field.

Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Video Production Intern Department: Productions FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Job Summary: This is a hands-on opportunity that will allow the intern to be an active participant on our production team while gaining valuable knowledge and skills along the way.
Employees are expected to follow all Cincinnati Reds policies and procedures, serve as positive role models, and manage their workload effectively. This includes demonstrating flexibility, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and meeting departmental productivity standards.

Proven experience supporting live production workflows in a dynamic control room setting.
Experience with motion graphics, including creating and adjusting templates within After Effects.

Hands-on experience operating within a high-pressure live production control room environment.
Must have experience collaborating with others to capture high-quality footage during Reds home games and events during the season.
Experience with Sony FX3 and Sony FX6 cameras is required
Must have experience editing content for multiple platforms, including in-stadium and online. Includes Hype Videos, Vignettes, and Spotlight Videos.
Must have experience logging and organizing footage captured during games and production shoots.
Skills
Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop
Knowledge of the Sony FS7 (or similar) and the Panasonic AG-DVX200 4K (or similar)
The ability to mic talent and record good audio levels
Experience with lighting setups and lighting talent for interviews or video shoots
Capacity to handle a variety of projects in a changing environment
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to pay close attention to details
Ability to work independently
An understanding and knowledge for baseball
