REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
* Completion of an approved registered nursing education program.
* Experience of at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
* Two (2) years' experience in specialty areas medical-surgical, pediatrics, maternity, or mental health nursing is a plus but not required.
* Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities.
* Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
* Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.

* Plan and carry out, in conjunction with the cooperating agencies, the instructional program for clinical experience.
* Interpret policies, regulations, and purposes of the cooperating agencies. Provide an orientation, including introductions of the staff, to the cooperating agency for the student.
* Communicate clinical objectives to the student and staff at the clinical site. Communicate clinical objectives to the teaching assistant and preceptor if applicable.
* Supervise students providing nursing care to an individual or group of individuals in the clinical setting.
* Evaluate the students' experience, achievement, and progress in relation to the clinical objectives. Collaborate with the teaching assistant or preceptor for evaluation when applicable.
* Assist in the formation, implementation, and revisions of the philosophy and objectives of the program.
* Develop teaching outlines and materials that meet the behavioral objectives for all phases of learning contained within the program.
* Adopt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of the student and enhance the objectives of the program.
* Collaborate with faculty to evaluate academic achievement and progress in relation to theory objectives.
* Actively contribute to faculty meetings, planned activities, and committees associated with the program.
* Maintain currency in nursing practice and nursing education to support standards for the nursing program.
* Function in the classroom/clinical at the direction of a faculty member.
* Inform students of academic and clinical progress at designated intervals throughout the program of learning.
* Communicates with the Program Administrator and/or Health Professions Academy Coordinator as necessary to resolve issues or concerns.
* Perform any other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
* Regular and reliable attendance.
EXPERIENCE:

The Clinical Instructor scope of work:
Supervises, instructs, and evaluates nursing students in a clinical setting. An instructor is assigned to a clinical site for 2 days or evenings a week/term. The instructor will supervise between 6 to 8 students at one time. Primary communication will be with the appropriate nursing faculty team coordinator, but the instructor will be under the supervision of the director of the Nursing Program.
The Skills Lab Instructor scope of work:
Instructs and evaluates nursing students in the on-campus skills lab setting. Each lab provides an instructor student ratio of 1:6. There are 2 to 3 instructors assigned to every lab session. Job Overview
On a part-time, limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to students. This may include creating curricula or teaching from model curricula provided by the department.
Adjunct Faculty responsibilities will include teaching bachelor's level courses in Radiologic Imaging Technology.
Adjunct faculty members may be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) provide students with clinical instruction and supervision. (3) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; and (4) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

Ohio University School of Nursing BSN program on the Athens, OH campus is seeking applications for individuals to serve as adjunct (part-time) faculty in various capacities as need arises for the 2025-2026 academic year (August - May). This includes, but is not limited to, clinical instructors, lab instructors, and teaching assistants. These individuals will provide instruction, supervision, guidance and counsel to undergraduate nursing students in relation to BSN program objectives and includes (1) planning and supervising student learning experiences; (2) evaluating student progress; (3) recording and reporting as required by the School of Nursing. Minimum Qualifications
A nursing degree of BSN or higher is required by the start date of appointment. Minimum of two years (24 months full time equivalent) of clinical nursing experience in the United States is required. A current unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or the eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
Preferred Qualifications

The Adjunct Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) Clinic/Lab Instructor provides hands-on instruction and supervision to students enrolled in the EFDA Program during

clinic/lab sessions. This position focuses exclusively on developing and assessing
students' (pre)clinical skills related to expanded function dental procedures as permitted
by the Ohio State Dental Board (OSDB). The adjunct instructor ensures that students

Provide laboratory instruction and supervision in the performance of EFDA dental
procedures, including amalgam and composite restorations, sealant application,

Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to

Job Purpose:(Adjunct Nursing Lab and Clinical Faculty):
This faculty member teaches lab and/or clinical locally to students that are enrolled in our nursing program. Students complete weekend clinicals at area facilities and lab at East Ohio College. Clinical facilities can include Trinity, Heritage Valley, Aultman Alliance.
Clinicals and Labs are held on the weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and are 12 hour shifts.
Qualifications:
Have a graduate degree with a major in nursing; or
Have a bachelors degree with a major in nursing and: Be enrolled in a graduate program within one year of employment as a faculty member; or
3 years of direct care patient experience in nursing for part-faculty.
Holds a current, active RN license or privilege to practice that is not encumbered and meets the requirements of the Board of Nursing.
Interprofessional faculty teaching non-clinical nursing courses shall have advanced preparation appropriate for the content being taught.
Job Duties
(Adjunct Nursing Lab and Clinical Faculty):
For each course in which the Instructor is assigned, she/he will:
Provides clinical instruction and demonstration of nursing skills and procedures to students.
Attends and participates in new nursing student orientations for clinical sites.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinical agency management and staff.
Works closely with the clinical coordinator.
Utilizes instructional methods that promote student development of critical thinking, sound decision making, and clinical competency.
Design and implement teaching strategies that will assist a nursing student to meet the course outcomes.
Completes all clinical documentation accurately and thoroughly and submits to the clinical coordinator.
Refers all students to the laboratory coordinator for remedial activities as needed.
Completes a clinical debriefing linking course outcomes to clinical practice during post-conference activities.
Ensures students have access to student assignments to have adequate time to pre-plan for clinical experience.
Plans, reviews, and corrects students clinical assignments.
Assigns patients to students care based on the clinical outcomes of that particular session.
Evaluate each assigned nursing students achievement and progress.
Plan and provide clinical experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the Nursing Education Program.
Maintain high standards and promote excellence in education.
Serve as a role model for students in professional interaction with other health works and with clinical facilities.
Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work, in meeting classes, and in keeping office hours.
Become familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, the Faculty Handbook, the Nursing Faculty Handbook, and the Clinical Instructor Handbook.
Perform any other professional duties as assigned by the Nursing Program Director.
While the Adjunct Nursing Lab and Clinical Faculty is responsible for fulfilling all primary responsibilities listed above to achieve the immediate goals of the campus, he/she is responsible to meet all organization goals.
