The Deputy Fire Marshal works as part of a team in the prevention of fires by enforcing the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code and performing plan review and field inspections of new construction projects, periodic compliance inspections of existing buildings and the issuance of mandatory permits. An employee in this position performs communication work receiving Emergency and Non-Emergency Calls for service and various tasks for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and after hours answering for partner agencies in the county. This critical role serves as the vital communications link between the public in need of assistance and emergency services response. This entails a candidate being able to work independently in a high-stress environment while receiving and evaluating incoming emergency and administrative requests for emergency services, including but not limited to law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS); triaging those requests for service; providing guidance and assistance to the public in life-safety situations; and coordinating appropriate responses to high-risk, high-stress operations, with the objective of keeping all participants safe. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
* Receives Emergency and Non-Emergency calls for service via phone, radio or other means of Communication.
* The Telecommunicator will operate a variety of electronic equipment, including telephony, and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) to maintain constant contact with Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS personnel.
* Operates a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, along with his/her training, policies, protocols and procedures to screen calls for service. This employee should be able to promptly answer the calls professionally, regardless of if the call is received via telephone, text, video or other method.
* Providing pre-arrival and post-dispatch instructions during high-stress situations, such as CPR, Active Shooter, Childbirth, Callers in Danger, etc.
* The Telecommunicator will ascertain such information by obtaining the location of the emergency, the nature of the emergency, and all pertinent and available information.
* The Telecommunicator will utilize the International Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), and Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) to protocol process and prioritize calls for service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for specializing in Mechanical & Electrical projects such as HVAC controls, LED Lighting, retro commissioning and solar PV and EV charging projects. This position assist in energy analysis and long-term planning for the entire building portfolio to reduce utility and operating costs and make progress on County strategic goals and resolutions. Physical Plant has 4 work groups: General Trades, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing. The Supervisors for these trades will often rely on this position for guidance in problem solving, modernizing systems, or coordinating resources among each trade discipline especially related to optimizing facility energy use. Essentially, this position's expertise will be solicited and valued on energy related items.
The Senior Energy Engineer will also have responsibility for energy management of Wake County facilities and is staff to the Wake County Energy Advisory Commission along with the Physical Plant Director. This position also works closely with Facilities Design & Construction to ensure that buildings are built in a sustainable and maintainable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Facility Management: Keeps Wake County facilities, its building systems and related equipment operating as consistently and efficiently as possible-this includes assisting Trades Supervisors with troubleshooting system failures and ensuring that buildings are code compliant and meet all regulatory requirements
* Project Management: Function as or work collaboratively with Project Managers on establishing the scope, budget, design, schedule and implementation of the project
* Data Analysis: Analyze a range of data inputs including utility data and building system information to identify meaningful trends that will assist in decision-making processes and interpret diagnostics on system operations in order to maintain the integrity of core building systems

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
* Coordinates with IT department, the performance of Enterprise ERP upgrades and patches in alignment with change management processes.
* System supervisor for the Enterprise ERP system and its sub/integrated systems including Tyler Hub, Tyler Content Manager, Employee and Vendor Self Service.
