This role acts as a liaison between freight forwarders, brokers, internal distribution teams, and customers to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and timely transportation of goods. The position requires strong coordination skills, documentation accuracy, and working knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations (no direct handling).
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and expedite domestic and international shipments to meet customer service expectations
Act as liaison between freight forwarders, freight brokers, steamship lines, and customers
Prepare, obtain, and submit all required shipment documentation in compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, and CFR 49 regulations
Book shipments and arrange consolidations for efficient and cost-effective transportation
Support hazardous material shipping documentation (multi-hazard class chemicals; no physical handling)
Troubleshoot lost, delayed, or damaged shipments and address customer inquiries
