Experience Required: This classification requires a minimum of five (5) years performing all of the building and customizing of WordPress websites, themes and plugins; building natively or using tools such as ACF ( Advanced custom fields) to facilitate the creation of blocks, page options and or theme customization; building responsive websites for desktop and mobile devices; client side scripting using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and jQuery; a minimum of two (2) years working with ADA and accessibility tooling / remediation; Using REST or GRAPHQL API; Hardening WordPress websites and remediating security vulnerabilities; Perform performance tuning PHP, Apache and MySQL and scripting and running load testing tool; Programming in PHP and JavaScript; and a minimum of three (3) years installing, configuring and using Open-Source development tools, IDEs, and GIT source control. Role Overview As a Contract UX Designer at Puffco, you will shape how users engage with our products online, balancing aesthetics, usability, and performance to drive user satisfaction and business growth. Key Responsibilities Shopify Page Building & Site Customization Build custom pages and simple modules from scratch in Shopify. Make design adjustments across the site, including promotional updates. Conversion Optimization & Visual Impact Develop engaging, conversion-focused interfaces that enhance user engagement. Optimize landing pages, PDPs, and checkout flows for improved performance. User-Centered & Data-Driven Design Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Crazy Egg) to uncover user pain points and inform design decisions. Requirements 3+ years in UX/UI design with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar design tools. Strong understanding of Google Analytics, Hotjar, and A/B testing. Experience in eCommerce UX, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), and persuasive design. Hands-on Shopify experience for building and customizing pages. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS Ability to solve complex design problems with simple, elegant solutions. Strong communication skills to present and defend design decisions with data-backed insights. This hybrid contractor role is based out of our Los Angeles HQ and requires in office work 2-3 days per week. The compensation rate for this role is $45.00/hr for candidates based in Los Angeles, CA.
