Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Structural Welder located in USA, Fontana Ca.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the Structural Welder is responsible for welding structural steel (c-channels) to fabricate the framing for sheet metal enclosure buildings using welding equipment and techniques. This position uses the FCAW process.
What a typical day looks like:
Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly
Weld structural steel (c-channels) in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using welding techniques and equipment
Clamp, hold, or tack weld parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
Determine required equipment and welding techniques, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Complete all other duties as assigned
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR 2+ years' experience in dual shield welding process
Certification required: AWS D1.1 FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)
Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, and drawings including weld symbols
Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements
Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding techniques including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the FCAW process for structural welding.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to make jigs and setups
Overhead crane operation a plus
What the physical requirements are:
Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Must be able to see details at close range.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Perform welding tasks based on production schedules.
•Inspect all parts prior to and following entering workstations assigned to; immediately report non-conformance issues to group leader and/or Supervisor.
•Perform quality testing and documentation as required.
•Accurately complete paperwork required for production records, including: labor reporting, move tickets, SPC charts etc.
•Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
•Follow all safety rules and regulations strictly and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
•Maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift with focus on quality (i.e., within applicable quality standards). ·
•Rotate between workstations as assigned.
•Perform duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Group Leader.
•Work overtime as required and mandated by production schedules.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
•Ability to bend, twist, turn, kneel, and squat.
•Stand and walk up to nine hours per day, work overtime as needed and reach overhead continuously.
•Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles.

Job Overview
Summary
We are looking for experienced welders that are able to perform advanced welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG,or Flux-Core) to join a variety of metals and alloys. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will be able to produce welds that will pass visual and non-destructive testing inspections, and possess great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. A weld test interview is required for this role.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols and specifications to properly layout, fabricate and weld within allowable tolerance.
Must be able to qualify in the 6G position with TIG.
Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and codes.
Perform intermediate-level fabrication and assembly work with minimal supervision.
Experience with oxyacetylene and plasma cutting techniques, including torch setup, adjustment and safety practices.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
Able to determine that all welds meet ASME specifications
Must produce x-ray quality welds with a high passing rate.
Position requires overtime, including Saturday.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

Day to Day Duties:
Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging.
Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.
Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o'clock and “goat”/tractor).
Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment.
Performing vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations.
Using gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment.
Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment.
Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling)
Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.
Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members. \
