Specialist Combination Welder
This person must be able to join metal parts, such as pipe or metal plates as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions through the application of heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
Unites pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture.
Reaching expected temperature, size, and color of flame by burning torch and adjusting flow of gas and air.
Preheats work pieces for the preparation of welding or curving, using torch.
Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.
Checks the weakness of work pieces and measures work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure the piece meets specifications.
Climbs up ladders or works on scaffolds to take apart textures.
Gives signal to crane operator to lift large work pieces.
Uses thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment to dismount metal assemblies or cut scrap metal.
Uses hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal.
Instructs and brings flame or electrodes on or across work piece to straighten, curve, dissolve, or develop metal.
Joins pieces together, covers up taut points, and adds metal to develop parts.

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Welding Apprentice who will Perform welding tasks under supervision on piping and plate within petroleum operations facilities. Fabrication Areas
* Must be able to set up and run in one of the fabrication work areas
* Understands how to manage daily work expectations and goals
* Understands, interprets, and follows foreman's report including priorities and start dates
* Understands how to read material sheet tags and determines material types and gauges
* Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan
* Follows all safety policies and standards
* Understands non-conforming process according to SOP-0003
* Maintains accurate and timely system transactions
* Can inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance
Welding Areas
* Welds product using fixturing (if applicable) with minimal supervision

* Can meet UA weld aesthetic standards per customer specifications
* Can set up and maintain welding machines including changing wire and monitoring gases

* Will assist the setup personnel as directed for overall set up and changeover of the paint line
* Inspects products regularly during production runs and informs set up technician of quality problems
* Ability to package finished parts and prep for shipment
Assembly Area
* Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspections Control Plan
* Accurately tags material and product according to product specifications
* Can identify hardware components used in assemblies
* Can compute decimal equivalents and interchange fractions
* Can accurately count and record production activity including picking, transfers, etc.
* Can follow written and verbal directions to complete assignments or jobs
Shipping Area
* Ability to interpret and systematically prepare packing slips, bills of lading and other shipping related documentation prior to shipping any product
* Follow proper packaging methods and reference United Alloy's Master Document system for formal instructions
* Assists with raw material inventory control and accuracy: including sheet stock, hardware, and other components

Main Responsibilities

Clean and repair welds when needed.

Qualifications
