    This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for Federal Programs Project Managers with the potential to work out of our offices in San Antonio, TX; Seattle, WA; Tacoma, WA; San Diego, CA; Arlington, VA; Washington, DC; Pittsburgh, PA; Virginia Beach, VA; Jacksonville, FL; or Denver, CO. You will be involved in projects with our Federal Programs Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact * Work as part of a team leading design projects, stakeholder interviews, existing conditions analysis, as well as presentations for Clients and other meetings as required. * Responsible for managing design process and provision of high value technical expertise for relevant projects as assigned by the Project leadership. * Coordinate with other team members and technical disciplines (Clients, Site Managers, Mechanical/ Architects/ Electrical/ Structural/ Civil Engineers and Planning staff) for all facets related to design program implementation and construction. Prepare and conduct design charrettes and review workshops. * Lead the development of construction documents for a wide range of Federal projects. * Conduct on-site observations and compliance checks, as well as facility condition assessments. * Review documents in various phases for design intent, material use and coordination. Ability to perform quality checks and back-checks for design work and client comments for multiple disciplines is a must. * Supervise and mentor junior members of the team. * Support WSP's marketing team when preparing responses to Federal client issued Requests for Qualifications (SF330). * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. * Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications * BS in Civil Engineering or Architecture. * 10+ years of experience in architecture or engineering, including experience with AEP project delivery for USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC and/or DoD client agencies. * PE or RA registration. * Due to client/project requirements, US Citizenship is required. * Ability to obtain a US Government issued Secret level Security Clearance. * In-depth understanding of national and local codes and ability to analyze and implement building and zoning codes, as well as specific agency requirements and design standards (UFCs, UFGS). * Advanced proficiency in relevant current software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). * Demonstrated abilities in negotiation, representation and liaison with all Stakeholders. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to perform efficiently and independently within the design budget and schedule, to produce high quality deliverables responding to client's program. * Availability for CONUS/OCONUS travel, which could include overnight stays. We have an immediate opening for a motivated, highly skilled, and experienced transportation or environmental planner with focus in the transportation industry. This position is expected to organize, plan, and grow our Advisory & Planning services in the state of Texas as well as be a client advisor, staff manager, and pursuit and project manager on Texas and regional projects and programs. This position will work closely with planning, environmental, civil, and transit/rail staff across WSP to research, analyze, document and present information related to various types of transportation projects across the region. Your Impact * Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the planning discipline and function, offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector. * Responsible for the contribution and management of multi-disciplinary project teams in all phases of the execution and delivery of siting, impact assessment, approval and permitting for assigned business sector projects, as well as transportation planning and management projects. * Lead larger-scale more complex transportation planning projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring profitability and satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees. * Oversee the appropriate use of topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS data, and other visualization tools to determine exact locations of project areas, associated physical / urban / population / economic / political sensitivities, and to uncover primary, secondary, and tertiary impacts. * Actively foster compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local Agency laws, policies, and regulatory requirements. * Support the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Transportation Planning work for WSP in assigned area of responsibility, with a focus on opportunities in all disciplines (planning, design, strategic consulting, and program management). * Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings. * Assist with the preparation of an annual update to business tactical action plans within the specified area. * Ensure that planning discipline certifications, accreditations, and value proposition is developed and continuously improved. * Conduct needs analyses and client value surveys to align the planning discipline's function with business and project strategy, identifying and addressing any skill gaps or risks within the sector business operations. * Schedule planning discipline meetings, providing updates and recommendations to ensure that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to inculcate discipline expertise and innovation into project work. * Serve as one of the planning discipline's lead representatives/liaison to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities. * Develop and inform proposal and project scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgetary metrics. * Interpret and summarize data, including reports and documents that result in sound planning and regulatory conclusions to minimize impacts to the community, population, local economy, and environment. * Maintain and grow a client base for providing high level Transportation Planning services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities. * Manage and provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff. * Remain current in latest transportation planning subject matter, practices, regulations, and techniques. * Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide "trusted advisor" service and future ready solutions for clients. * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. * Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications * A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning, environmental planning, or policy work. * The successful candidate will have worked on and led projects similar to those described above, overseeing the work of others successfully and/or managing staff * A Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field. * Ability to develop business and technical strategy with others as well as develop and manage high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals. * Experience with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Texas transit agencies, local municipalities, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) and/or Texas regulatory agencies. * Experience with project administration and project management in the transportation sector. * Possess strong communication skills, a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude * Proficiency with the transportation project development cycle, including from planning to implementation. * Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are necessary. Experience with MicroStation and/or GIS programs is highly desirable. * Ability to effectively present and communicate ideas orally and in written form and excellent writing skills are required. Responsibilities - The person in this position will use basic computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects - Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards - Assists in maintaining drawing database - Performs routine analysis to check accuracy of data - Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards
