Qualifications Education/Training • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or • Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Licensure/Certification • Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida. • Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: o Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or o Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT); or o Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CNMT) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Certification (CT). Job Responsibilities:
Performs medical assistant and xray procedures
Assist the providers with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms; taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to the patients
Assist provider in all special procedures
Assist with any procedures taught through formal training or by physician
Keeps medical records in accordance to procedures and forms
Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required
Clean wounds, applies dressings, draws labs and splints as directed by provider
Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results, giving vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the doctor; lab work consisting of throat cultures, and urinalysis.
Receives and handles phone calls.
Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
