Office Hours: Mon - Fri: 7am - 5pm Hours per Week: as needed (per diem) Key Accountabilities: Completion of requested x-rays in a timely manner that are of high-quality. Essential Duties: Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room. Obtains the patient's history to ensure proper scheduling. Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy. Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his/her questions as best as possible. Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest. Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge). Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers. Reports equipment problems to department supervisor, office manager, and vendor. Participates in training of new employees.
