Summary:
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. They prepare patients for the procedure, position patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensure proper imaging protocols are followed, and work closely with radiologists to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. CT Techs also maintain equipment, keep patient records, and follow safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure and provide compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
Essential Work Functions:
Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
Provide high-quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital's system
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
Ability to adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice

Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate

Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They ensure patient safety, maintain equipment functionality, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results.
Essential Work Functions:
Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions if they arise

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
+ Performs radiological diagnostic procedures, applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.

Responsibilities

* Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of radiology services.

* Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility.
* Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor.
* Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.

* Maintains radiation detection badges and files all radiation reports.
* May maintains adequate inventory of clinical and clerical supplies for Radiology Department to ensure efficient operations.
* Arranges for the release of CD*s to patients and or outside agencies.
* Make sure that proper releases have been completed and release information saved in IKM.
* Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff.
* Performs call and confirms for CT exams.
* May walk PET patient on some days to PET Coach and assist PET technologist as needed.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school. Minimum five years experience as an X-Ray Technologist. Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required. Current IV and CPR certifications required. Conducts patient education and screening and scheduling.
Complies with all Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.
Ensures the safety of patients, visitors, co-workers, and self by using appropriate radiation and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
Assists and supports the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect. Provides supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures. Reviews images with students on request and provides quarterly evaluations of students to clinical instructions for formal reviews.
Attends continuing education programs and completes mandatory training in order to maintain licensure, position specific ongoing competencies and professional growth.
Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
