This is particularly staggering when you realize in Florida, the second most expensive state, a dozen eggs is $6.36. Hawaiians may want to make smaller omelets to avoid breaking the bank.

Instacart determined the the cost of a dozen eggs in a state during the month of December 2022.

The table below provides complete data on the cost of one dozen eggs in each of the states. It takes account the average cost of eggs for Instacart shoppers, so some variance within brands is to be expected.

Ultimately, this is not a good dataset for determining personal expenses. After all, you now very well how much a carton of eggs costs you. For that matter, you may not eat many or any eggs at all, so it’s all scrambled for you.

However, it is useful to see- from the top down- general trends.
