Responsibilities * Transports patients between the Emergency Department and designated departments for treatment, admission or discharge. * Assists medical staff in the transfer of patients from the bed to a gurney or wheelchair for transport to other medical departments within the hospital for treatment, admission or discharge. * Assists with admissions, transfers and discharge of patients. * Observes patient condition during transport and reports adverse symptoms to nursing staff. * Transports patient supplies and patient medical equipment from one department to another. * Hooks patient monitor equipment/oxygen up after returning from tests. * Maintains patient treatment areas for new patients. * Stocks linen in patient treatment areas. * Stocks medical supplies in patient treatment areas and bedside carts. * Cleans patient rooms assuring professional presentation. * Assists with bathing, dressing, undressing, ambulating and obtaining specimens from patients.
