Job Title: AircraftMechanic III (Avionics/Electrician)
AircraftMechanic III (23023):
Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance. Processes the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs. A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraftmechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
AircraftMechanic III (Avionics/Electrician):
Electrical Experience: Minimum of Six years total experience in aircraft maintenance as an aircraft avionics/electrician in aircraft/Support equipment related maintenance and one year with lead experience. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace parts and accessories/components and the skill to adjust and settings according to established specifications. The Contractor shall also have the skill to identify and isolate integrated systems malfunctions and analyze performance and operate electrical systems to determine operational condition per operational checks. Experience using specialized tools required for military aviation electrical connector assembly/disassembly and other associated electrical terminating devices is required. Aircraft or Aerospace Ground Support equipment modification and operational checks experience required.
Electrical Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to lead and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, mechanical and indicator principles theory, and application relating to electrical systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; using and interpreting testing and measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Other: The Contractor shall have the ability and qualifications necessary to lead and perform removal and replacement of electrical wiring, electrical connectors, and Operational Checkout. Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.

Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment
Perform shift work and/or overtime as required
Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
Perform other tasks as directed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ten or more years' experience in aircraft maintenance
Five years' lead experience
Advanced Corrosion Control Course
Basic Qualifications:
Six years Aviation Maintenance experience as an aircraft avionics/electrician in aircraft/Support Equipment related maintenance
One year lead experience
Must be able to work shift schedules as required per Performance Work Statement (PWS)
Must be able work work-week schedules i.e. M-F, Sn-Th or as required per PWS
Basic Corrosion Control Course.
Must be able to work flexible work-week schedules as required
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC)
Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft.
Must be able to use hand and power tools.
Must have dexterity to handle small parts.
Must be able to travel to support off station Temporary Duty (TDY) as required

$41.33/hour
Other Compensation
Employees will receive a minimum health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour paid up to 40 hours per week.

Additional information:
The hourly rate for this position is between $20.00 and $32.00 depending on your prior work experience. Each year and based on your job performance, you are eligible to receive a step increase of up to $1.00 until you reach $35.00. Once you have reached the maximum pay rate, you are eligible to receive a retention bonus of up to $1,000.00 each year.
When you work in excess of 40 hours within the pay period, you are eligible for overtime, which is paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
When you work on a Contour Airlines observed holiday, you are eligible to receive holiday pay which is paid at 2 times your hourly rate. Hydraulic Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of structural assembly and modification engineering drawings; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in structural and mechanical diagrams, blueprints; using and interpreting measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
