Position Responsibilities
Sustains engineering support related to a product line
Manages product line configuration and change orders in Agile PLM system
Understands product design and features, be familiar with the manufacturing process. Understands customer performance and configuration requirements for production
Acts as a technical point of contact for ongoing support and change initiation, including managing manufacturing and customer issues escalated to engineering
Assists in proposal & report writing, review of contracts for production orders
Helps coordinate the transition for new products and product variants into production
Coordinates the release and update of engineering design documentation, operator manuals, bill of materials, manufacturing procedures, product acceptance test procedures, and production tooling and test equipment
Coordinates development, testing and release of product improvements and variants in cooperation with product line manager, design engineers and project managers

Provides customer support for failure analysis, field bulletin technical content, general product information
Works with suppliers, purchasing and planning to ensure resolution of technical issues that impact production

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification
2 - 5 years of related experience in a similar role, including experience in an engineering design. environment, including support of products in production
Experience with unmanned air vehicles a plus RF, digital, and communications electronics design Electronics manufacturing troubleshooting PCB layout, schematics and assembly's Design/drafting/CAD (Altium), including ASME Y14 drawing standards
Ability to solve basic structural dynamics problems
Strong understanding of configuration management principles

The Mechanical Controls Design Engineer will develop innovative designs to challenging engineering problems for a wide variety of applications including but not limited to facility control systems, facility data systems, and unique electro-mechanical systems.
The Engineer will develop detailed design criteria from customer requirements and use strong engineering principles and tools to develop robust and reliable solutions. They will support the development of mechanical subsystems by selecting instruments and devices within accuracy and uncertainty requirements in order for the subsystem to perform its function and allow for proper performance and system health monitoring. Supporting manufacturing operations for the Light Duty Coating department of the Huntsville ECMS site. The Huntsville site primarily produces automotive catalysts and that function is segmented into a Light Duty plant and a Heavy Duty plant, which are differentiated by their technologies and catalyst applications.
Working within the Light Duty plant, a Manufacturing Engineer II in the Coating production area is responsible for active support and continuous improvement on the part of the process that applies the catalytic coating to the substrates. This production area consists of multiple coating lines and has a wide portfolio of different products and technologies that it produces. The active support function of a manufacturing engineer requires them to get deeply involved in troubleshooting machine issues and assisting other operations personnel in resolving real-time issues.
The continuous improvement function of a manufacturing engineer is centered around creating and driving department initiatives to enhance the performance and culture of the Light Duty Coating department. The manufacturing engineer will also serve as a primary operation representative on capital projects and will have direct accountability for the performance of several coating lines.

What you will get to do:
This position is for a systems engineer experienced in design for TEMPEST and EMI/EMC compliance. The selected candidate will be expected to lead and support efforts within the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team in the areas of TEMPEST, EMI/EMC design, analysis, and test.
