The Retrofit Solutions Engineer is responsible for the creation of specific modification design data packages that are used to integrate pre-identified existing known (or close-to-known) design solutions to post-delivery aircraft. SUPERVISES: Directs the work of engineering personnel assigned to the Project Team and engineering activities as directed by the Deputy Program Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering AND
five (5) years' experience in either shipyard design and large ship construction or as a Cognizant Engineer over multiple systems or similar large scale engineering design project (i.e. offshore platforms), OR
three (3) years' degreed Engineering experience at Austal USA.
In lieu of Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, High School diploma/GED and eight (8) years of equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of Shipbuilding specifications such as ABS, Mil, API, and other similar general construction specs required.
Experience in identifying and anticipating design/production work sequence conflicts required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
