The base pay range for this position is $110,700- $184,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. **Position Summary**
RSI is currently recruiting for Project Engineer III. This position is located at the Los Alamos National lab.
+ Supervises the engineering activities (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit.
+ Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project.
+ Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.
+ This project has moved past the design phase and is moving into the installation and construction phase.
**Primary Responsibilities**
Responsibilities include:
+ Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility construction and installation. .
+ Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
+ Performs conventional design and analysis.
+ Provides construction and project support.
+ Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
+ May lead projects and supervise the work of others.
+ Able to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
+ May provide supervision, preferably in project engineering; may include other relevant types of engineering including startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or engineering/construction firms.
+ Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
+ Performs risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques.
+ Provides system integration within and across disciplines
+ May provide direction to technicians.
+ Continuously improves work processes to meet customer needs.
+ Duties may include preparation of calculations, drawings, data sheets, specifications, reports, reviews, studies and estimates (both material and engineering man-hour) working as an integral part of a project team.
+ Typical drawings may include one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, feeder/circuit sizing, and conduit/cable schedules.
+ The Engineer may conduct drawing searches in engineering records and will perform field investigation and walkdown work as required.
**Job Knowledge/Qualifications**
+ This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
+ DoD and DoE experience is preferred
+ Work may be required outside normal business hours and sometimes on short notice
+ NQA1, glovebox systems, electrical and manufacturing experience a plus
**Required Education and Experience**
+ B.S Degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university and 6 years of applicable progressive experience, degree may be substituted for experience
**Clearance and Health Regiments**
+ Q Clearance preferred but at a minimum must have ability to qualify for a Q clearance.

+ **Procurement:** Source materials, track deliveries, resolve shortages; maintain vendor relationships.

+ **Closeout:** Assemble O&M manuals, as-builts, and final turnover documents.
**What You'll Bring**
+ **Background:** Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering degree **and** 3-5 years in commercial construction **or** 10+ years relevant mechanical construction experience in lieu of degree.
+ **Industry exposure:** HVAC/Plumbing mechanical contractor experience on mid-to-large commercial projects (preferred).
+ **Tools:** Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel/Word; familiarity with BIM/CADD workflows (Revit/Navis/AutoCAD a plus).
+ **Strengths:** Organized, detail-driven, great follow-through; clear written/verbal communication; collaborative with GC/owner and trade partners.
