The Data Architect is responsible for monitoring, retrieving, and analyzing student data to support district reporting requirements and data-driven decision-making. This role designs and maintains data systems, ensures data quality, and develops applications and reports to meet state, federal, and internal needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage data imports and exports using SQL Server Integration Services;
- Manage and backup copy of PowerSchool data within SQL Server Management Studio every quarter;
- Create and maintain table indexes;
- Create and modify SQL queries to improve web application performance;
- Build applications that will allow users to interact with date and perform basic functions such as add, update, and delete;
- Assist with maintaining data quality as well as SQL Server to store and retrieve date;
- Assist with collecting and analyzing data for federal and state reporting purposes;
- Advise and train middle and high school on dropout and graduation;
- Review and update graduation rate file, including reviewing documentation for adherence to State guidelines;
- Compile and analyze data for outside vendors for use of their software using SSIS and SQL programming language;
- Compile and validate data as requested by different departments within the organization as well as board members, grant requests and FOIA request using SSIS and SQL programming language;
- Design and maintain the relational database structure for Data Central web applications;
- Develop and maintain new web applications and SQL Server Report Builder reports for district projects and state data collection/report card data
- Map and design data extracts from student information system as well as other data sources such as Excel and text files for import into the SQL server data warehouse;
- Design SQL Server Report Builder reports and gather report requirements for internal web application (Data Central);
- Defines data extractions of student Data from Student information system (PowerSchool) for evaluation reports, annual reports and other special reports; and
- Coordinates data collections and review for Graduation Rate, Dropout Rate, Teacher Attendance, and School Climate Survey, Civil Rights Data Collection.

* Education: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
* 3+ years of data management experience.
* 3+ years working with statistical applications (e.g., SAS) or similar tools.
* Experience in software development using ColdFusion and SQL Server.
