The Damper Associate is responsible for utilizing hand tools such as a drill, pneumatic drivers, rivet gun, caulk gun, wrenches, and other tools to assemble a wide range of louvered and damper products to specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
Interprets basic dimension specifications, simple prints and instructions to determine work to be completed in accordance with product drawings/specifications.
Performs manual and repetitive assembly and sub-assembly functions including riveting, caulking, pneumatic screwing, and bolting of parts to frames and damper assemblies.
Following basic instruction to build a finished product void of defects and meeting technical standards
Assembles materials on table by following technical written or verbal instructions
Operates various equipment such as a drill, rivet gun, caulk gun, pneumatic drivers and other equipment, as required and necessary
Performs routine daily inspections to determine quality of finished product for defects at certain designated intervals prescribed in the work instructions.
Clean machines, tooling, and parts, as needed occasionally to keep equipment in proper working condition.
Train new members on the various assemblies, tools, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production.
Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean and safe work area.
Identify and rework assemblies deemed defective through QA inspection to comply with quality standards.
Observes and obeys safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment Any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the immediate supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each ESSENTIAL DUTY satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required,
Experience 1 -2 year of assembly experience preferred and/or related experience in similar manufacturing industries acceptable.
Language and Communication Skills : The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, work instructions, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate information in a one on one and in a team environment.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Attention to Detail - Ability to detail and specifications, read, interpret, and follow work instructions in an orderly manner. Ability to inspect materials according to quality standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The ability to stand 8+ hours a day. The ability to reach and bend. The ability to frequently lift, push, or pull, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity is required and the ability to operate with hand tools. Ability to do repetitive bending, reaching, stretching, lifting and twisting for 8+ hours. The ability to wear all proper PPE's, as required. The employee must be able to work in a state of constant alertness and in a safe manner.

This position will assemble boiler parts/castings and obtain component parts required using bill of materials. This position will also package boilers using current specifications and processes.

Manage inventory following established guidelines and procedures including labeling and locating parts, picking parts from appropriate locations in specified quantities to fill kits or bins, delivering parts to work areas, and recording and communicating inventory levels.
Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.

Assemble a wide variety of component parts, to build complete units, with a focus of on-line operations.

1) Apply, align, attach, insert, and fasten various commodities, components, parts, sub-assemblies, or units to chassis in required order and sequence.

Under general direction from the Production Supervisor, the Assembler is responsible for safely assembling finished product using components, sub-assemblies, fasteners, and packaging material following all SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements.

3rd Shift: Sun-Thu (11pm to 7am)
Requirements:
Mechanically inclined and ability to read a tape measure to 1/16"
Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance of a hoist; up to 50 pounds without assistance
Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and use hands
Computer operation skill: Moderate
Job Details:
Operate slitter efficiently and productively against set goals.
Loading and unloading of rolls on slitter.
Interpret and understand written information, (orders, SOP's, Lam. and print roll tickets etc.)
Palletization, (building pallets of finished goods per customer specifications)
Bagging of finished rolls.
Quality checks slit material
Lay flat/measurement of slit web
Print quality/print defects
Roll/web tension and integrity
Enter accurate information into computer and on production forms.
Print out and attach accurate labels to finished rolls.
Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean.
Spot and determine visual defects.
Cut out defects and splice together good material.
Complete tasks in adequate time limits, as to meet press daily goal and schedule needs.
SOP's may cover the area of (but are not limited to):

Job Purpose
Assemble a wide variety of component parts, to build complete units, with a focus of on-line operations.
Key Responsibilities
1) Apply, align, attach, insert, and fasten various commodities, components, parts, sub-assemblies, or units to chassis in required order and sequence.
2) Work from Engineering specifications (work instructions), sketches, schematic diagrams, blueprints, process sheets, check sheets, photo books, and verbal instructions.
3) Perform necessary adjustments as unit progresses down assemblyline.
4) Record defects that require off-line and on-line corrections. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, excessive continuation of defective parts, improper function, and assembling to proper supervision or management.
5) Visually check parts and entire assemblies for completeness, function, operation, and appearance.
6) Assist in the development of assembly practices and procedures.
7) Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
8) Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
9) Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
10) May perform touch-up or small repair work when assigned.
11) Perform other duties as required or directed.
Experience Required
High School Diploma or GED.
