Purpose Statement
The General Laborer is responsible for performing labor tasks within and around the plant.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
* Must provide physical attendance.
* Must be able to follow instructions, including standard manufacturing procedures and processes.
* Working on the production floor to assist in the manufacture of our delicious pizza products following our standard operating procedures.
* Works on a production line to assist with manufacturing our products following all production standard procedures (on all lines, re-cases, repackages and other product rework as assigned).
* Complies with all Safety, GMP, Quality, Plant Policies and other Associate and food safety requirements.
* Maintain clean and organized work area.
* Feed pans and trays to the production line while maintaining the speed of the line.
* Apply shipping labels on the shipper at the determined rate.
* Prepare and maintain materials and equipment at the start, during, and end of production.
* Ensures that all production codes and labels are printed accurate and legible per product specifications.
* Ensures that all packaging and materials are correct according to the SKU formula and integrity of appearance.
* Must be able to work in COLD temperatures.
* Must be able to read codes and change coder machines when needed.
* At the end of the production day all unused materials will be resealed and returned to the designated location in the warehouse following standard procedures and all coding and taping machines will be turned off and cleaned in preparation for the following shift.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Must have the ability to write simple correspondence and effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, other employees in the organization and vendors.
* Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals
* Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement Teams and other temporary teams as assigned or as a volunteer

Summary
Assembly Workers are separated into 4 classifications/categories, namely Entry Level, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. As specified below, said classifications are separated by, among other considerations, skill sets, experience, and proficiency. In general, Assembly Workers are responsible for installing, assembling, and modifying components on railcars while following drawings, procedures, and other written documentation, instructions, directives, and protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interpreting and using drawings, process procedures, and other written documentation to prepare materials and tools, and to complete assembly of components;
Drilling, tapping, torquing, tape measure, and sealing stainless steel components and assembling them on railcars;

SCHEDULE

Visually inspects parts prior to assembly to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Sets up/prepares jobs for assembly, including checking part availability on computer and obtaining parts from ASRS as needed.

Assembles sub-assemblies and finished goods and uses Loctite, grease, epoxy etc. as specified per assigned work instructions.

Thoroughly cleans and prepares product surface for labeling using acetone. Makes sure proper labeling is applied per bill of materials.
Maintains and cleans work area, including removing trash, wiping down tabletops, and cleaning floor.
Trains, assists, and helps oversee work of new employees as needed.
Periodically builds product models for new/redesigned products.
Wet tests finished products to ensure proper operation and absence of leakage per testing instructions. Tags product and records testing results.
Programs and tests electronics per testing instructions.
Reworks failed products as necessary.
Assembles polypacks to finished goods prior to sending to shipping.
Cleans and maintains test tanks. Maintains water level in test tank.
Maintains communication with Engineering Department regarding product performance problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Manufacturing experience preferred.
