Performs basic and intricate electronic/electro-mechanical assembly functions on prototype and production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications. Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire lists. Uses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower-level assemblers. Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings to work orders using work instructions. May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automated assembly equipment. Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools. Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies. Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments. Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment. Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points. Complete all required training and any additional training required by supervisor.
