1. Gives customers immediate and undivided attention.
2. Works with the Deli Manager to create and maintain labor schedules to leverage production within the needs of the department.
3. Ensures food quality and proper presentation of all foods items and ensures recipes are followed to the letter.
4. Reports any and all violations of policy and unsafe working conditions are reported to the Deli Manager and Manager On Duty or Store Manager immediately upon discovery.
5. Follows all food safety regulations including proper labeling, dating, storage and rotation.
6. Assists the Deli Manager in achieving required sales, margin, expense and labor goals.
7. Knows product availability, preparation, proper storage, handling, nutritional aspects, trending dietary restrictions and ensures product mix meets varied customer dietary needs and requests.
8. Ensures department orders for equipment, supplies and products are timely and accurate.
9. Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.
10. Maintains accurate retail pricing and signage.
11. Communicates company goals and information to Team Members.
12. Keeps store leadership informed of all events that affect the department,
13. Schedules and leads department Team meetings; attends store and regional meetings.
14. Observes and follows all deli policies, procedures, safety rules, cleanliness and sanitation, and Weights and Measures directives.
Qualifications:
1. Two year’s food-service management experience.
2. CA Food Handler's Card.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
A Deli Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Deli Manager in interviewing and training Deli Team Members;
planning, assigning, and directing work; regularly reviewing and responding to communications from the Administrative
Team on the Daily News & Actions document; appraising and documenting performance and job results, rewarding and
disciplining Team Members as needed; addressing complaints and resolving problems with customers and Team
Members. As needed, a Deli Assistant Manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws.
