RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle cash transactions with customers using cash registers Scan goods and collect payments Issue receipts, refunds, and change Redeem shopper cards and coupons Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas Keep reports of transaction voids and refunds Bag customer purchases Pleasantly interact with customers to ensure satisfaction Knowledgeable on store promotional activities, including community engagement and in-store experience programs. Basic knowledge of store merchandise categories and locations. Ability to answer store telephone in accordance with company guidelines. Ability to stand 100% of shift. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Perform alternative tasks throughout the store as designated by manager. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties are performed primarily at the register. However, a Cashier may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work includes walking, standing, lifting, moving, carrying and stocking product, along with interaction with customers, associates, truck drivers and vendors.
